The color
I started wondering if I had made a horrible mistake by buying the Barrique Red. I had to go back to the dealer today for something...and I looked around. I didn't see any car that I liked better than mine. They tended to look kind of boring to me. Mine stood out and the color changes in the sun.....You can spot in the parking lot. Of course those big rims with the Sports Pkg sure do help! I'm real glad I went for that. Anyway.....The car is SUCH a blast to drive I cannot believe it.

Great pictures of what looks to be a great color. Looks like Terra is a nice match too. I'd love to see Barrique in the flesh, but the dealers here are too timid to order one on spec it seems. Maybe we're just too timid to buy it.

I love this color!
I was prepared to buy a black 325i when I went to the dealer. I saw this beauty on the lot and was immediately in love. I bought it that day to make sure no one else would touch it. My sales advisor told me that it had just come in and that I would be the first person in the area to have this color. I have gotten so many complements on the color because it is different from the more popular black or silver of a BMW and changes based on the lighting.
The pics with the terra interior look sweet, but I like my beige. I did not have the time to order my car, but if I did, I would have gotten the burl walnut inlay instead of the poplar my dealer ordered on spec. |

Simply beautiful. Very nice photos. The car is so clean. Very nice. I'm still assembling my kit of products to care for it. I got to get another coat of polish on it soon!
Happy New Year!

congratulations
so many congratulations RLC and many thanx. with these last shots you made my decision simple...i really think it is such a classy combination..classic, elegant, a bit "retro" that makes me remind of 70's porsches... i am waiting for e92 and when it comes out i will be ordering this combination, no doubts anymore!!!

when i took a delivery of my mystic blue i asked about the barrique red because that would have been my second choice. my SA told me that someone just picked theirs up and they were very disappointed how bad, boring and uninteresting that color looked in person. the guy only had a 3-year lease on it and said he's glad it's not longer than that. my SA also told me that it'll be a bitch for the dealership to sell it back after his lease is over because the color is so unpopular. anyone else heard this? i personally really like the color.

special color
I don't know but when a dealer talks I never trust him 100%. I think that his words may hide some interest in something. It is certainly a spcial and unusual color but I think that everyone must see it in person to make his mind about it...

My experience with BMW sales people is that they favor the typical silvers, blacks, and grays. The "Black Forest" colors as they're called. The resale value (as I would imagine for a lot of BMW customers) is irrelevent. We want what we want. My SA tried to talk me out of Sparkling Graphite and Beige/Poplar. It was the FREAKING launch color combo for crying out loud. I would have ordered Barrique had it been available at the time, but my inclination to ever pay attention to an SA's color opinion has ended. Buy what you want. If the difference in resale value (if there really is one) is that important to you that you can't get the color you want, maybe you should consider a cheaper car.

beautiful color. I can't wait for mine. I ordered a 325 but with a alumininum trim. I just loved how the color changes at different time of the day when the sun is shine upon it.
congrats. |

i'm not really a fan.
there was one on the showroom floor when i bought my car. my dad was there too, and he said he would get that color just because he knows people would hate it.

This color is something else. I still ponder it everytime I look at the car. It's ANYTHING but boring when the sun is shining on it. It's truly one of those colors that looks totally different in the shade than in the sun.
I was riding home from work tonight and a guy almost had a wreck staring and smiling at my car. The sun was setting while we were riding on the expressway. The car looks like it's on fire when the sun is shining.... |
