I agree there are a lot of poor apps but when one has over 60,000 there will be many that are useful. I have an ipod touch and can confirm that there are more than enough crap apps out amongst ipods 200,000.

I also went for the Desire, it really is one amazing bit of kit, with andriod outselling iPhone atm, it's worth a look at least. Flash support, camera, speed, screen, the phone all are better then the iPhone IMO.

However if you use your iPhone for music then the desire is miles behind, itunes has had years of development, and I can't see Andriod App catching up soon. That said a its perfectly fine to stick a few albums on.

I was very impressed with the vodafone prices that were leaked today. A lot cheaper than I thought it would be for such a good phone.

the 16gb phone is only £89 on 35pm

Agreed and yes the music software is a bit ropey with a poor quality speaker (both for phone conversations and music/radio) - I'm guessing there may be an app to help make it simpler to use?

I often plug my phone into the aux socket and listen to albums from it and the system it too fiddly to be used on the move.

Other than that, it kicks butt as a phone and fun device.

That's because the TynTn is an old Windows OS pile of sh1te.

A bit like comparing an old 316i to a new M3 because they are both BMWs ;-)

I've just spent all afternoon trying to get my daughter's new HTC Desire to work and so far I am a bit underwhelmed. She was too impatient to wait for the iPhone 4 but I think that she will live to regret it.

Am I correct in thinking that you put music onto it by plugging it into your computer and using it as an external drive? Is it the same for Apps? I’ve never been a huge fan of itunes but it looks great compared to just copying files.

The “Cover Flow” interface for music looks very “low rent” compared to the iPhone and I have been unable to get BBC’s iPlayer to work. I’ve seen some info on how to hack the Opera browser for this but the beauty of the iPhone is that it just works!

Should also add that Mobile internet and text messages don't work but this is probably down to the service provider!

Apps - go to Android market - most are free.
Iplayer - still not 100% working but there is an app that helps (I don't use it)
Music - I drag and drop mine from my laptop. The interface is a bit cack TBH but it does work okay.

Internet should be fine - I use wifi most of the time - definitely use wifi for app downloading. And turn off auto updates if you want to double the battery life.

It's a very very good phone but does need a bit of getting used to.

If anyone knows of any alternative music software I can download, please shout!

Thanks for the heads up.

The display and user interface are certainly comparable to the iPhone. I've now handed it over to my daughter and she seems very pleased so that is the main thing.

No doubt I will get a full list of it's functionality and lack of.

Iplayer - go to the android market and download beebplayer - it'll work and work very well best over wi fi for tv though!

Download advanced task killer (free version) this is great to go back and close out the apps you've stopped using. If ou want to flick between open apps quickly press and hold the home button

Theres two are three decent music mangement apps out there, lok at Meridian, TuneWiki
however, the best - and If syncing Itunes is a must - is probably Doubletwist http://www.doubletwist.com/dt/Home/Index.dt

Desire is great if your prepared to do more than just press a button for everything, has a lot to offer but takes some getting used to, the facebook integration is great

That's got to be one of the worst documents that I have ever seen. God knows how much it costs!
