there's a 100K mile comanche in my driveway awaiting it's turn. basement full of parts for it's restoration. probably where my spacers are.

here he is in the backround

long bed. as it should be. I had a shortbed, but didn't love it.

I'm between the firestones and the falkens for summer tire choice.
So jealous of the Comanche. I have a 98 TJ Sahara now I got from California. It sits in the garage during winter.

And life is so much more fun that way.

Also, the suspense is killing me with those wheels. I can’t wait to see them all shiny and put together. It’s prompting me to polish my car - ahhhh the OCD.

I loved driving my XJ in the snow, but the salt is what ultimately caused it to rust out even with constant washing and fluid film. The BMWs hold up much better to winter/daily driving.

Today I replaced the oil filter housing gasket. I made the mistake 20k miles ago of using a non-OEM gasket, and sure enough when I pulled it off it was hard as a rock. Replaced it with OEM and a dab of Ultra Black RTV.

Mt TJ on 35's as the same with most Wranglers are death traps in 3-4" of snow or less due to the weight and short wheelbase. An xdrive or rwd with good snow tires is a better choice. Now if we get over 12" then the fully locked beast makes an appearance and I just go wherever the hell I want. I also installed heated seats in the TJ

that's all my brother's work. He's way better at paint than I am.

last we wheeled my sister in law's FJ (yes) I spotted poorly and we wiped the passenger side against sandstone.

I was amazed at how much literally buffed out.

its 2002 and he went altezza.

in other tail light news.
these overlays are disgusting, but better looking than the white paint flaking off inside my reverse lamps.

I cannot fit car in the garage and open the tailgate with the door closed, so outside it went.

they came from slickmods. they need to be 1/8th larger in all dimensions. Barely enough to cover the white. I had to leave some clear gaps at the bottom between the brake and reverse.

they're ok I guess

I foresee new tail lights in my future.

I think they look pretty good. If mine weren't all melted I would have done something similar. I wonder if the taillight repair tape they sell at autoparts stores would match closer?

I tried those tail overlays.. the adhesive failed either from washing the car or the winter weather, or both. Later, I tried out that VHT red spray and it faded after a year or so. I just ended up polishing it back to clear. If you can find proper red lenses I would recommend going that route, or just keep replacing the vinyl.

VHT with either a UV spray can clear or automotive clear over it will last for a lot longer

the problem is they're just undersized. If you can't wrap the edges and secure them they'll eventually get blown off.

I probbly would have been better to buy some film and just cut them myself, but that's too much work.

eventually I'l have those sweet sweet blacklines.

it's on the list now right after tires.
