Sorry to side-track this a bit, but has anyone find any tracking information on the Fuji? I tried getting access to AIS tracking but they never responded to my request, so I'm wondering if anyone else has had better luck. ETA for the ship has varied from 4/9 to 4/12, so my baby MIGHT be on California soil by now, I'm dying to know.

ANY info would be appreciated. THANK YOU!!!

*********Question....My car reached Port Hueneme April 7th and now the 800# says "Awaiting a shipping vessel" has my car gone through VPC already or is it awaiting transport to VPC?????

Well its been a blast on this forum the past 4 months, i want to say that without all the info here i would have been truly lost and alone in this whole process. I will be taking delivery tomorrow morning at 10am, and will be posting my impressions of my first Bimmer, just bare with me as it might take me some time to get back to this forum.
Led, Steve, and the rest week 10'rs, thank you, and keep up the good work. And lets get week 10 production group going for the new M3, which will be my next purchase in about 2yrs.

Check Owner's Circle. For me OC indicates VPC while 800# is same as yours. Apparently 800# falls apart once the car is off the ship.

OC still says "En route" as of today morning. I am going to go to the dealer today and I will find out exactly where my car is.

Time to bring this thread back to the front page!

Since I'm picking up the car in 2 weeks, I was wondering when I would get the call from my CA since I've already received a letter from the PC confirming my delivery date. I figured they will want their $$$ at some time and I was taught never to offer what is owed, always wait for it to be asked for.

Lo and behold, I get a call from my CA and he's asking for info that the PC needs and I almost started giving him the answers before he asked the questions!

I told him that I would come in on Monday to settle the balance and asked what time he would be available. The following answer brought that

to my face. He said "whatever time is good for you, you'll be meeting with the business manager anyway."

In order to prepare for my meeting with the BM, this weekend I will be doing some role playing with my wife. She will be the BM and I will be me. Whatever she asks, the answer will be either, "I'm not paying $$$ for that", or, "No, I don't want it, I don't need it and if you ask me again, this conversation is over."

Needless to say, I figure to be sleeping on the couch for at least one night this weekend, but I will be in top-notch negotiating form for my Monday meeting!

It's amazing the sacrifices we make for our cars...hope everyone is enjoying their rides! :rocks:

I really don't think you'll have the kind of problems that you're preparing for. BMW sales are not as flagrantly greedy and shady as others. You won't likely be asked about the "undercoating" or other 100% profit items. You may have to sign-off on some things that they offer that you decline - like wheel/tire insurance, gap insurance, etc. You didn't get ZPP so you won't be asked about the upgraded BMW Assist package, etc.

I've handled all three of my BMW purchases in a very non-confrontational manner, and it has worked out good for me.

Zep, I know this is a bit off topic and has been covered elsewhere... But what are your thoughts on the wheel/tire protection (w/ sport package), and the lease damage protection? My car's currently at VPC so I know the call will be coming soon, and would like to make up my mind before heading in. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hmmm... tough one wdogan, but I'll try. I declined the wheel/tire insurance because I don't race, or drive crazy. I am extra careful on poorly maintained roads, etc. Bottom line is - I've never had a need for it in the past and can only base future needs on that. The risk is that someday I'll run over a 4x4 and have to replace all four wheels and tires at my own expense.

Not sure about lease damage protection - I've never leased. Doesn't your regular insurance policy cover that - or are we talking about ripped seats and stuff?
