Week 10 Production check-in and updates

Finally, after a business trip - I picked up my BMW late this afternoon.

Amazed how easy my Razor cell phone connected!

Ipod playing through the aux is great.

The moon roof is amazing..

(And yes, I know I need to post pictures ..but we are in the midst of a nasty noreaters).

Thanks to all you for makeing the wait tolerable. Your humor, wit, and information made the weeks fly bye.

new gauge reads

160-250-340

old gauge reads

120-210-300

I believe this was a change with march production

Earlier 335s oil temp gauge went up to 300, causing some cars, namely sport/steps, to basically shutdown due to lack of an oil cooler. These were the only 335s not fitted with the oil cooler for some reason? As far as i have read, yes, this is a march production but was supposed to take place late last year...BMW just took their time it seems.

Wow! I'm surprised that the dash temp gauge is what actually controls the shutdown!

Picking it up tomorrow afternoon... Can. Not. Wait.

Thanks everyone for helping me through the last 2 months. Already a Bimmer freak and haven't even picked up the car yet.

Will do -- going to a Giants game tomorrow, and have a busy Thursday/Friday, so the pics will have to wait until the weekend. By then I will have driven the car up through the mountains to Tahoe and back, and expect to be in love.

Yes these have been a very long 2 months!!! Leaving the office early today to go pick it up, and I'm watching that clock closely until 3:00.

I actually prefer a manual transmission in SF -- climbing and descending the steep hills is all about being in the right gear, and with an auto I find I'm always playing with the throttle to be where I want, relying too much on the brakes when going downhill, etc. Plus I've only ever owned manuals so I'm used to it. Still, I am looking forward to the hill assist feature! =)

Bling how's your baby doing? Still in the bonding phase?

I'm at work so don't know exactly, but I think it's around 75... 1,100 more to go before I really open 'er up.

I'm one of the week 10 guys whose car was "advanced" to week 9. Production finished on MARCH 1ST with all the March upgrades -- 6FL, updated iDrive with 6 programmable buttons, HD radio with RTTI, and oil cooler under the right front fender. Picked up in Munich April 5th and dropped it off at Harms on the 13th with 1,263 miles -- fully broken in with the opportunity for a couple of 150mph runs on the home stretch back to Munich the last day. On the boat, due to dock at Port Hueneme May 11th.
