Yet another failing of the iphone...the bluetooth connectivity sucks. I never activate the feature because about 30 seconds into every call, the connection starts crackling and cutting in and out.

it takes a little bit to connect to the car but its no different than it was in my Acura. Needs 30 sec to re-pair with the car.
