Aussies thoughts on the MHD Flasher.

Anyone have any luck connecting the mhd app to a 2009 model? I bought 2 different 2 k+dcan and can't get it to connect. I know my otg cable definetly works and i've tried the setup on a galaxy note tab, nexus 7 2012 and s6.

Still reading a couple of hundred pages about MHD flash looks very good, I connected my cable to the car and all good, now I just got to think about pulling out my Procede V2.5 and flashing with MHD
Most guys in the USA are selling the Cobb and buying MHD.
sounds promising.

Mine is an MY9.5 and it works fine for me

Are you using any specific cable (eg bt cable) or just one bought off ebay? If you bought it off ebay, do you by any chance remember who the seller was? Thanks.

Bimmer software cable I tried one from ebay. Waste of time. I'm on Sydney's north shore near Chatswood if you want to borrow a cable.

After getting two dodgy cables, I can fairly confidently say that you'll get a solid working cable by:

Search aliexpress.com for "BMW DCAN" then sort results by seller rating.

Buy the first one that advertises that it's green PCB in the title. Make sure sellers positive feedback is at least 97.5%. Mine was US$15 plus US$15 express shipping and works a treat.

I had so much trouble on both eBay and aliexpress with green PCB items pictured and I put in the purchase notes "must be green PCB" and white PCB turned up and they only gave me partial refunds.

Thanks Aus335iguy and bradsm87. I'll purchase a cable from bimmer software as they seem to have pretty good reviews and even MHD was recommending them.

JRAD7 I have a custom flash from Wedge Performance, it has been great so far.

Im going this route as well Chappy. Waiting on cable to arrive, then JD75 & Tribola are going to tweak my car with a custom tune for maximum POWAAA!!!
See if it will break my stock turbo 1/4 mile record

I guess you are going for a backend flash.
I'm not FBO yet, I don't know if I will get downpipes just yet.
Yet us know how you go with the flashing.
I'm tempting to pull out the procede on the weekend maybe.

Jd75 "Justin" i believe is from Sydney?? He sells may parts to guys on here and is a great guys to turn to for assistance. Ive bought my FuelIt stage 2 pump & 3.5 bar map sensor & adaptor from Justin so far and very impressed with his professionalism.
Trebila does the custom MHD tunes to suit your car & particular needs.
Thanks for the offer of the cable, they are cheap as chips so at least we will all have one lol

Let me know how you go with it as i am waiting for my inlets to come from RB in the states, then i will have extracted as much as i can out of the stock turbos, close to 500rwhp would be nice on stockers

Id love to take you for a run in mine now Chappy so you can see what kind of power your missing out on!! Im already running the E85 backend flash on map7 on JB4 and running about 20-21psi peak boost.
The Trebila custom flash tune with hopefully net me 25psi with the new RB inlets on

I'd recommend the guy that I'm using. His name is Trebila (David), and knows everything that needs to be done for EU/AU cars.

He's also helped Terry from Burger on some of his flash maps for post shift timing.

Although he can, he has said he prefers to only work with JB4 stacked.

Probs due to the safety features the JB4 provides.

Thinking of doing a mhd backed flash with my JB4, does the off the shelf maps they provide work fine?

Only be using the pump gas (98 Ron equivalent one), no ethanol or anything fancy.

Would there be error codes generated due to those maps being designed for us-spec cars?
