lol I have liability insurance and protection through the LLC, but my name is on the line here. I just don't want people to get the wrong idea that they can run around with the race gas tune on pump gas and never have an issue. It's just not suggested. I think the hot pill on quality pump 93/94 octane is going to rock though.

lol! I'll just leave it as is, until you have something concrete for me to test. lol! I'm not going to BLOW UP my engine by trying things that are not advised! So on that note! Make something for us 93 octane guys to get more boost!!!

I will report back once I get it! lol! So what are you calling the pill? JB2RH or JB2Rx. The latter if you want my suggestion! lol!

LOL....true enough. I was just curious what you were registered under.

I am pretty sure people understand that it is a race gas tune, and under no circumstances should you turn it on without race gas!!!

From what I have seen you have done plenty to make that clear and as such should have no liability concerns if someone does turn the "R" with pump gas...

What about at high elevation, on pump 91 with cold temps? Will that make a difference?

Depending on the elevation, the ECU automatically raises boost so there is no need for the pill or "R" switch, but a little high octane gas before going to the track can't hurt.

I am at 4,500 above sea level. There is 2.2 PSI less air pressure at this elevation. Does the ECU add an additional 2.2psi on top of the "R" set amount? If it doesn't, perhaps the "R" would work with 91 octane?

With the "R" on boost is basically fixed, since it maxes out the factory correction factor. At that altitude I would stick with the normal JB2. ~13psi should make for a fun time on 91.

I ordered the JB2 with the R.
But I thought that the JB2 was using 93octane.
What can i do to obtain the 93octane pill?

Because here in Puerto Rico, all our gas stations use 93octane.

Another question: Did you mix the 100 octane fuel with 91octane or with 93oct for the R version?

Hi Darvo, JB2 is the ideal for 93 octane. For those users who want to risk life, limb, and engine, for some extra performance, we're testing the hot pill. I can't guarantee you won't have limp codes or hassles with the hot pill, but we will know more when testing is done.

For the R make sure you mix 1/2 93 octane 1/2 100 octane, using normal US (ron+mon)/2 standards. Straight 100 is better than 96 if your wallet can take it.

Ok, thanks for your fast reply!
I think i'm better off without the hot pill for daily driving.
And i'll use 1/2 100oct and 1/2 93oct.
Thanks

Hey guys, I was able to find a stock catback w/ stock secondary cats, so I will be swapping over as soon as I get time. The no cat thing is great for power but the smell is starting to bother me, not to mention the noise. I'm hoping catless downpipes with the factory 2nd cats/res/mufflers are the hot ticket on the street.

Any guesses for power? I'm guessing 15rwhp less (compared to my 2nd cat/res delete and open cutouts above).

How much power did the cutouts make above the cat/res delete gains?

Around 5rwhp from 5000rpm+ on the R, but as much as 15rwtq down low. I didn't test both ways with the normal JB2/JB2H. I was expecting a lot more than 5rwhp... I'm starting to think the factory mufflers are pretty good. The real test will be the 2nd cats/res/factory mufflers though. If I only drop 10-15rwhp I think I'll be pretty happy with it.

Maybe I can go for the quickest ET on factory catback record?

terry,

from a budget point of view, deleting the secondary cats and keeping the stock catted downpipes is much cheaper than spending $800+ on catless dps and keeping stock exhuast.

BUT, what is the difference in whp gains over stock stock??
which exhaust note is richer / and quieter ?
...and of course either alternative specifically better at my 9,000 feet altitude??

thanks as always (note my JB1 going in this sat, cannot wait!).

This is going to be a bit of an experiment, but I suspect just deleting the front cats will give much better performance gains than just deleting the secondary cats. But we'll see how it goes on the dyno!

I wouldn't touch the exhaust at all if I was worried about warranty, exhaust changes are easy for dealers to spot and easy to blame when problems arise.

thanks terry,
actually my dealer is turning out to be realatively cool so far.
for something as obvious as exhaust or CAI, i would try to get their "blessing".

most interested in what your dyno reveals re front cats delete vs. rear cats delete...please keep me posted here or in PM.

best

Love it.

Personally, I don't think .5-.75 psi is anything to stress over running 93 octane. PROcede users are running 14-15 psi even on 91 octane, I believe.

With the pill, I should be boosting max 12 psi which seems very safe given the high quality fuel and octane I use (Shell Vpower - 93 octane).
