because its relevant
K&N Apollo can probably be used with a cheap ebay MAF housing or some other DIY http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...?prod=57a-6015 http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNj...eLw~~60_35.JPG EDIT: link with more info and additional accessories like inlet transition pieces( its 70 mm to start) to fit 80 mm housing and pipes http://www.knfilters.com/universal/apollo.htm

Interesting, I guess the only problem is practicality when it comes to heavy rain and/or flooding.

I don't have the room in front of my airbox like you do. Can't barely fit my hand in there.... Then it dawned on me you don't have HID lamps. I guess the housing protrudes into the engine compartment much further than yours. The only way I can see a 3" duct going into my airbox is a la Dinan's bottom adapter. |

Te best way to really be sure is to take out the airbox. It is more challenging to do the
Inlet at the bottom because of the odd shape, or you could use the K&N Apollo. Check reply #133 from Andrey_gta

FYI apollo is only 1/2 of the solution. U need to mount the MAF somehow.

Look at DJ Apex's diy, he mentioned dimensions there. If it matches, then that is good

im thinking about doing this mod soon i was wondering though if you could leave the left side of the box off, use a bigger filter and create something like this?
or would it just be better to use your specifications and have everything enclosed? |
