Added new OEM side turn markers. Huge difference having fresh clear lenses!

Also, got my front bumper and hood repainted, and replaced fresh stock light housings.

I changed my passenger side one when my indy changed the drivers side one.

I wonder why they changed the drive side one? I didn't ask them too

Maybe it broke or something while they were working under the hood? I've got no clue.

I brought a TYC one off Amazon for $12 I think

FML.

My 3 cars are barely used since a year : 2000km, 600km and 500km.

All 3 starting to be leaky leaky at the same time this spring...

-N55 is the worst, oil leak is on the exhaust manifold, lot of smoke, risk of fire. @ only 110k km.

-I replaced the e91 oil filter housing gasket.

- Ill see for the audi, guessing the ofh too.

Lastly, I had my shop clear coat the underside of the hood and I sourced original stickers to finish it off. It cleaned up the old flat looking base coat. It really makes a huge difference and oddly enough, when I close the hood it sounds more solid than before. I'm guessing the thick clear coat stiffened it up a tad?

149k and the passenger side mount had collapsed and was riding on the bump stop, the drivers was still in good condition but, when in rome, I wasnt going to be going in there again any time soon if I could help it. I bought the Corteco ones and this is funny, they are EXACTLY like the BMW ones I took off except it looks like someone took a flat brand to the plastic underpart where the BMW logo would be cast to remove it. I honestly think they are "rebranding" the BMW logo off NOS.

As far as tips, when in doubt take it off. Mine is an N52k automatic so I added my notes to the DIY thread (read that thread like 10 times, youll likely find notes about your specific car in there). For example I pulled the auto tranny cooler lines completely, removing that made it a hell of a lot easier to get to the drivers side pan bolts.

It doesnt even notice the bike back there and gas mileage is usually still within 10-12% of normal. Ive done a few 400 mile trips and no issues with temps (tranny or otherwise). And that is also with the car loaded down with my entire paddock as well (the real reason the back is sitting an inch low).

I got the Execuhitch/Invisihitch on a recommendation and I am a fan, trust me its worth the extra money. I do STRONLY recommend this though: https://www.curtmfg.com/towing-acces...lls/rockerball

Since unibody and no rear firewall you could hear everything the trailer was doing. That thing really quieted it down.

Thanks. Its an848 Corse (basically just 848 Evo with Termi/race ECU, massive brakes, quickshift and sh*tty version of TC). I like the middleweights because they make me work harder, Id probably kill myself on one of those psycho liter bikes. Its also a good mainstream bike because (as you obviously know) so much is shared between the three models that parts are easy to get (for an Italian bike). My others are Guzzis and MVs, aka "3 weeks if youre lucky."

In full livery (before I wised up and took those expen$$ive plastics off):

Yeah, I've seen that a lot in the BMW world where the logo is ground off and sold at half price. I'm replacing both mounts as well, and might even use 3M windoweld on my passenger side mount as an experiment.
Thanks for the tips, as well as the Rockerball link--first I've seen that. Might be handy for the future.

I've never seen it just give up and stop warning you.
It takes a couple months but eventually it does stop lol. I've had it happen twice so far. I've replaced everything but the hose to the reservoir and the sensor. The hose is done for I know that much, it crumbles if you're not careful

ryan stewart Question, what's your trailer setup? Hitch, trailer, etc? Mine should be on the road in the matter of months.

Anyone know this hollow tapping noise? My car is warmed up after 40 min of driving and always does this noise even when cold.

go and buy some reinforced vinyl hose, IIRC it was 3/4? Maybe an inch.
Cut the top and bottom of the corrugated hose off. Jam hose into the ends, secure with zip ties.

hose fixed forever for like $5.

I don't know why I waited a year to do it. probably lost $50 worth of washer fluid.
Takes you an hour to pull the fender.
Use plumbers grease on al the pump grommets too. I had a drip from mine. I had to repair the pump itself too as it had a crack where it was welded together. A bit o epoxy took care of it.

Injectors leaking compression- check them ASAP. If left unfixed can, and will, damage the head to the point that new seals will no longer seal. Seriously, it's possible it's something else, but I would check this right away.

Are you referring to the rapid lighter metallic ticking sound or the slower one ?

Not a bad idea, I think I'll try this down the road. Thanks for the tip!

So it was called the Invisihitch/Execuhitch but word is the company has changed hands and its now this company: https://stealthhitches.com/products/...3-series-wagon

It looks extremely similar, just looks like maybe they upgraded the mounting point where the hitch part enters to a machined stainless block (mine was just integrated).

No lie this IS INSTALLED, you can even see the extra wire still laying on the ground:

And def use this instead of a standard ball, a hell of a lot quieter:
https://www.curtmfg.com/part/40047

The trailer is a Kendon fold-up because I live in town and only have a slightly oversized 2 car garage, with it folded and the wheels mounted on the wall I can fit 2 cars (and 3 motorcycles, its just a game of tetris LOL). I really like it though otherwise. Fairly light, its sprung (torsion spring but still) and has big wheels that take radials and a spare under the belly so I can be confident going 90.

Lol the metallic lighter sound I'm referring to is after you open your hood. I'm sure you're fine if you didnt notice. My car makes a similar sound which I think is just valvetrain noise. But your post made me curious if it was out of the ordinary.

The other sound I hear is the slower, lower tap (roughly 4x/sec). Which I'm now guessing is what you were referring to?

Yes a much lower one ITS SCARING ME. Its hollow and seems more "heavy" and has more bass!

Not actually something done on the car but for the car or car related. Installed a Shade Sail (Phase 1) over my side parking pad. Second half goes in which will cover my wife's F30 after setting more 6x6 posts. Now we can wash and detail in the shade!

For the Kendon, if youre going that route, keep an eye out for used. They pop up all of the time for half. Just make sure you get the new model with the round tube frame (its better made and all of the current accessories only fit it).
