I mean, I may be an ass, but I do know it's better than being a vaginal cleaning product for fat women.

The au pair got a parking ticket today, had the car parked the wrong direction. I told her we'll talk about it tonight, but she texted me a pic anyway.

I'm sorry, but they drive on the same side of the road as we do in Sweden. She'll have to pay for the ticket, one way or another.

Pics of au pair or we can't help you decide on the other way of payment. Swedish is a plus

My feets hurt.
My dogs is achin'.
I need a foot massage.
And a side o' bacon.

Or in the immortal words of Jimmy Buffett:

My head hurts, my feet stink, and I don't love Jesus.

Looks like it's going to rain. My car currently has on its track wheels which have no tread. Time to drift on my way home. Don't drive behind me, you might freak out.

I stayed the night at a lady friends place yesterday, and since I normally go home on Sundays, my work shoes are at my place. It was an hour out of the way to get them. My backup pair is of course, in my backpack at my place as well.

I've been sneaking around the plant like a fucking ninja, trying to make sure nobody writes me up for wearing non-slip resistant shoes.

Shoot, the worst is when I can't find my safety vest and have to borrow one. I dunno what it is, I hate having to ask, no different than asking for directions I guess. I have a hard hat in my car, but for some reason, the vest is always at home. Needed it on Friday.....

What's so hard about keeping a spare in the car, right? Like my sunglasses, I have 3 good pairs on the nightstand.

Thankfully I'm past needing to wear a safety vest unless I go to shipping. However, anytime I lend any of my extra safety vests or safety shades to my visitors, they ALWAYS take them home.

So I've been working on this hard milling tie bar removal process on a Fanuc HMC, started with a solid carbide 12 flute 12mm endmill running 375 parts, 5 at a time 62 second cycle that they set up at the prototype facility in Marshall, MI before bringing it down here for production.

Got a 6 flute endmill with a .5mm corner rad, changed feeds & speeds, changed tool paths. 875 parts per tool, 42 second cycle time, endmill is $30 less.

The savings for one year volume of 3.2m parts is $700,000 from the changes. Might not get credit for the whole, if any, because we haven't ran the original tools for 1 calendar year. Now it's considered a cost avoidance, and all that work might be for jack shit on my end. Right now I'm fighting with upper management, because if it's like this going forward, I'm just not going to fix shit until we run it for 1 year and make them pay out the ass. My bonus and salary increases are based on work like this, so getting little to no credit is really infuriating.

Well everything is relative. $700k will get you a "good" boat, but nothing special. For a company that makes $200 mil per qtr, $700k is "good." Now if someone were to give me a $700k bonus, that would be several orders of magnitude better than "good."

Very true. I can say, a lot of what we make here has been in the plant for 10-15 years with Coldforming and Hydromat machining centers (high volume). We just started making new valve lifters for GM, which is where this project stemmed from, and would be my saving grace since every other operation has been ran dry at this point. I'm expected to hit 6% of annual sales as a cost savings, so roughly $180,000 goal.

Nobody in my position has been able to make a savings anywhere near $700k on a single project in this plant, so I'm hoping it will speak volumes and I'll get the credit I deserve. If not, I'm going to be making a lot of calls, and if that doesn't work, I may have to find a place that will respect and credit the work I put in.

Heh, I'm more like an 80%, but I love my life, so it all works out.

Unfortunately only a small portion is based on the savings itself. I get a fixed amount for hitting my goal. The other portion that really adds up the bonus is our profit margin, only problem with that is, some of our management wants us to mark up only 6%, when the goal is >17.99%. How we're supposed to manage that, makes no sense, so that's been another issue, too.

Then theres some if the people from Eaton put in a good review for me for the year.
