Theres always those quick jacks. it's no lift but definitely beats doing any significant project on jackstands

Yeah, I know. It's just not the same. I know more then 1 person in my area that's gotten what I consider crazy deals on used lifts. Like the same price as the quick jacks
It's hard for me to buy 1 knowing that. Eventually I'll knock a hole in the ceiling and take a chunk of the attic space.

How I wish all shippers were as fast as Amazon. Still waiting for the spark plug socket from Burger...ugh. Otherwise I've got a basement full of boxes ready to install! Even bought a torque wrench.

I have this really bad habit of trying to saving up for an upgrade I want, but accidentally spending it on stuff along the way when cool shit pops up in the 'for sale' forums

New plugs and coils installed today. Everybody was right, pretty easy job. I got to see previous mechanics mess ups. For example 2 of the cowl screws are missing, 2 of the beauty cover bolts are missing, couple clips were broken. She fired right yup and ran fine.

Not sure

Quick question. My buddy and I have the exact same 335i e92 N54 07 identical Bolton’s . done. He sent me a custom map for MHD told me all I needed was to just get the flashers module then go. It’s not an OTS one. I’m wondering is it safe or even a good idea to go ahead and proceed? It was free. So I’m like 🤷🏾

OTS maps are made and tested safe for loads of cars by MHD,

Custom tunes are made for a specific car, probably not a good idea to run someone elses custom tune on your car, unless it's tuned for your car.

I agree with this!

Just because your cars are identical in terms of mods doesn't mean anything when it comes to tuning.

Run the tune and log and see what you get.

The DME will generally safe you from fucking shit up.

That being said a custom tune is small money, no reason not to get one.

Yeah, tuners look at much more than just bolt ons, when creating custom maps.

No disrespect, but things like this really annoy me. Buy the MHD Flash yourself, give the money to MHD so they can keep doing the good work they do.

I recall reading on this thread where someone replaced a PCV value. What PCV valve?

+1 if the owner can afford to buy MHD, they can afford to buy a custom tune,

Agreed its not particularly expensive. Don't see the point of flashing someone else's custom tune, I mean the whole point of a custom tune is its dialed in for your particular car.

The PCV is in the valve cover

Yes, it's in the valve cover, the back of the valve cover, drivers side. The OEM unit is plastic and tends to leak apparently. I purchased an aluminum replacement PCV valve and plan to install it this spring as preventative maintenance. I've done worse things with $65! Lol

Thanks, I watched a video on it, looks pretty simple to replace after removing the fuel line. Is this recommended maintenance, recommended when tuning, both?

What brand do folks upgrade to?

I'm viewing it as preventative maintenance because I'm tuned. A leaky PCV seems to manifest itself in ways that can lead you to believe the issue is something else. I'd rather spend a few $'s and know I can rule that out should issues arise in the future. I went with one from FTP Motorsport. Several places make them.
