I have to agree 100% with Nivedh! 64-bit windows will not play nicely with some 16-bit binaries that are part of Ediabas and INPA packages. Yeah, you can download and install XP-mode on Windows 7, for some 32-bit backwards compatibility, but success is never guaranteed.
I have a bunch of other OBD software tools that I still use and they won't run properly on 64-bit windows. Some bug out because of driver incompatibility, some just plain won't run. Just run Win7 32-bit and you'll be golden.

I've started translating the MSD80 Inpa file. It's huge! It will take me couple of days, but I've already discovered insane amounts of useful stuff about the MSD80. Currently, I am at the OBD readiness section. This thing monitors everything! There are fields for monitoring Mechanical Stiffness of Vanos (intake and exhaust) and monitoring sudden changes of camshaft timing.

Vanost can be adjusted from -72degrees to +72degrees for both inlet and outlet

Hey Vas, I wonder if we can find the fuel "limit" BMW put in the code that Cobb found (see thread on the BB forum).
Would be awesome if we could update that value via INPA or GT1. |

I know what you are talking about, and I am pretty sure its not user programmable. That stuff is hardcoded into the ECU logic.

This is how i view it, but not sure if im accurate. I don't understand much of the software, computing aspects... But i would think any MAF limits are in the tables, and can be altered. Logic is how the tables, calcs are implemented. Flashing these tables is like coding, but dealing with the ECU module... Which requires different software. Coding youre changing options, flashing youre changing table values.

INPA is a collection of scripts and routines (highly customizeable by users) which utilize the communication protocols provided by EDIABAS.
Chances are, your INPA version is different. I am currently packaging the files needed for this injector coding. I am almost done with the DIY. Hang tight guys. I promise, I will deliver!

Not sure, but I venture a guess that it would be fine.

Check C:\Ediabas\bin\obd.ini. The Com port number must be COM1 in your case. Then copy obd.ini to C:\Windows. Yes, that's right, obd.ini must be on two locations. My DIY is almost done. I expect to post it tonight.
