Also, I made the 328i tune generally available to the 328xi guys - however, note that I haven't checked to see if any 328xi's came with MSV80.1. I'm going to do some bench testing and see if I can make some sort of guide to figure out if you have this ahead of time. Last edited by hassmaschine; 05-31-2018 at 10:22 AM.. |

Also on the couple cars that had limp mode issues - I believe the ultimate cause was (at least one of them) had never been updated since it left the factory in 2007 - and it appears that it just needed to update the DME coding. Finally, I have found another 330i file that I would like to try. It should give a factory MAF delete with an OEM 330i tune. This is NOT an alpha-N tune - you would want to replace the MAF with a euro IAT though. |

You've been running the MAFless tune for a while now right? What improvements have you noticed? Is fuel efficiency effected?

Gents, I have an Australian 130i. If you need anything from my ECU please get in touch. Email via the forum is probably the best way to get to me. |

E85 is everywhere in Melbourne, AU and cheaper than 98RON. I'm interested to see what we can gain on E85, what the fuel system can handle and if there are any negative consequences. Maybe a summer (your winter) project. |

Successfully deleted the RSA and flashed my MSV80 328xi to MSV80 330i / 330xi today.
I had a small incident during the RSA delete, I had a bunch of errors and saying the RSA delete was not successful / Not OK. INPA could communicate with the car. So I emailed BimmerLabs, he responded instantly to help me to solve the problem. He came to a conclusion he needed to make a program that can force an erase on the program. The next day I tried to flash it again, I read the READ ME text file, then I realized my ignition was not on when I flash it. So if anyone who is planning to flash their car, REMEBER TO TURN THE IGNITION ON (without starting the engine). The whole process only took 15mins (RSA delete 10mins or even less, 328i to 330i took 30sec). Started up the "330xi" and 4x4, hand brake, DTC, yellow engine light were on the dash, so I took it for a drive and cleared the codes. Started it up again, all the codes were gone. For the first time, I felt a slight pressure pushing me against the seat. especially cruising @ 40km/h or below and pedal down, gear dropped from 3rd to 2nd, the rpm travels to redline so much fast, I was a bit mind blown. I drove around the city for about 30mins, making quick turns in AUTO mode (not M mode), there were few times I speeded up a bit to make a 90 degree turn, once I exited the corner, I pedalled down and there was a short delay for the gear to drop, like a sluggish/short delayed response, but I assume after a short period of time, the car should adapt to the new tune. Once again, thank you BimmerLabs for making the tune. Last edited by Blueeyesredpanda; 06-04-2018 at 04:24 AM.. |

Bit of a random q here. With the recent recall on e90s, would having flashed my 325i to 330i be impacted in anyway by bmw techs during the repair?
Ps - flash still running strong and making me enjoy the car even more est March 2018 |

Unless there's another new recall, none of the previous ones had anything to do with the code running on the DME, so no, the techs won't be touching that.
I have an ICOM with ISTA+/ISTA-D, and it does not show anything as being different than a stock car. I have not tried telling it to *upgrade* the DME... That would likely return it to a stock state, though if ISTA thought it was 330 code and tried to load a newer 330 code it might actually break things by loading a high power class data without an RSA delete program... Edit: this comment is more about 328s. For the 325 it might be even safer. |

I would still write the RSA delete unless you already have the same program version. the tune will not work with a different program.
as far as what's different in the file, I don't know - you can use a BMW VIN decoder to see if you have option 1CB though. |

My car just threw a code for MAP Temperature Sensor, and ISTA+ just tells me that the diagnostic procedure is "Replace the MAP Temp Sensor".
I think the car only has one MAP sensor, and it measures MAP + IAT, so I was pondering just getting the euro MAP sensor and ditching the MAF at the same time... Pondering. So, yeah, I am wondering the same as you freedomfries |

the MAP sensor is just a MAP sensor. the IAT is built into the MAF. If you get a euro IAT, it replaces the MAF.
it looks like several people have downloaded it but I haven't had any feedback. I think it will work fine (keeping in mind it will not past an OBD2 emissions test). You should be able to test it with your factory MAF, it will just ignore the sensor reading. If there's some major problem, just go back to the original 328i-330i tune, it only takes 40 seconds to flash anyway. Also I don't recommend a no-MAF tune if you have headers. At least not until the feedback loop gets sorted for the different O2 sensor position. |

Ah, important distinction, thanks! I guess its N54 that integrates IAT with MAP.
A little confused why the car reported MAP Temp Sensor failure, if it doesn't really have one... Maybe I'll just grab a can of MAF cleaner then... my car still has 4 years of OBD2 tests. |

No. It only measures pressure, it doesn't measure temperature. On the N54/N55, I suppose it does both (TMAP?)
MAP stands for Manifold Absolute Pressure (which you may already know). On the N52 it is more of a reference point / sanity check since most of the time it's always going to be 1 bar (depending on altitude). |
