Still worried for the future since it broke due to poor quality of steel. It will happen again, no doubt.
joel, lets all sign up for another trillium event next year. i had a really good time at that track. my instructor was very encouraging too, which made a world of difference in terms of the HPDE experience. cant wait to go back to mosport again.

tony - i am surprised that canadian tire replaced your jack with a new one without any hassles. i would have assumed that somewhere in the fine print it would say "proof of purchase required". i guess its good to know that they stand behind their products. cant call them crappy tire anymore! lol...

You also mention very hilly track, that's the problem with cameras, you don't get to see the grade up or down that well.

Cheers!
it IS a pretty scary track at first. my instructor kept encouraging me to carry more and more speed into the corners. its insane how much speed you can carry through them. very different from tremblant, which is extremely brake heavy and tend to have pretty slow corners. most of the corners at mosport are taken at speeds above 100km/h

Yes, no question asked. I showed up with the main part only, no box, no handle, no paper work, no bill. They let me go with a brand new unoppened box. I guess since it's a Mastercraft, they know they had to be the original seller. So since their warranty covers all of their stores, no hassle.

It is placed in the dead center, lower part of my bumper. I haven't gotten the nerve to put it outside with a suction cup mount yet. I will probably do it on July 1st LCMT if they let me. I will try it on the roof.

Hey Tony/Chris, I thought i'd run into you guys here.

Glad you guys had fun coming down all the way from Montreal. If your ever in the area or hitting up any Toronto tracks again hit me up. I had a good time at Mosport, learned alot, can't wait to do another one.

Tony: Awesome footage. Wish i could hear more intake or exhaust noise.

What top speed did you guys hit on the back straight?

hey, it was nice to meet you too. i had a great time at mosport (i am sure tony did too). i am looking forward to going back again next year! perhaps with the trillium guys again.

i think i hit about 220 at the end of the back straight before i start to brake. i could probably go faster but i brake pretty early -- i start braking just before i crest the hump and i saw my instructor brake after cresting the hump. takes lots of guts to do.

I was hitting 215 km/h. I know the car can go a little faster if I did one extra shift to 5th gear. I brake well past the hump.

Apart from Mosport, not sure I would do any other tracks in the area. I totally enjoyed and will for sure go back.

Tony,

Since I have no event in July, I might sign up for July Calabogie event with BMW.

3 days. I will be driving down to Dunrobin on Thursday PM. The Dunrobin / Calabogie is an easy 45 minutes drive.

Tremblant was great! Learned couple new lines......

Had a great instructor too. I also loved the car's composure.

No more modding will save me money.

No drama to report, couple of offs here and there but likely no damage!
My instructor made me practice race lines instead of school line. Faster at some curves. some I still need some work, but great improvement. I also have to stop leaning my head right in right turns, left turn I don't do it. Bad habit!

For Calabogie, I will likely go. Only Saturday and Sunday though.

It would be good if you would set up a video camera in the car. you would see your head movements.
I still move too much in my seat. But I am not willing to go all out and purchase a proper racing seat.

BTW, I sent you a PM today.

Replied! Thank you. A camera will do me no good, I need to stop doing it. Seeing it in the camera is too late

Hey guys, I did Tremblant as well. First time there after 2 trips to Calabogie. Tremblant is so much fun. The track has a real rhythm to it. Only problem was congestion! It was difficult to get clear space during any of the sessions.

This was my first run with new Koni Sports installed. A definite improvement over stock (335 sport), but still too much body roll. The setup feels great on the street though - the trip back down the 323, 321, 317 and 315 was awesome! I could run that every weekend.

How many cars per run group?

Glad you had fun... and you are right about the rhythm. Mosport and The Glen also have rhythm... Calabogie not so much. But C'bogie is a very challenging track which I enjoy a lot.

Hey too bad we did not get to talk! I have 335 too, and it looks you are going the same path I did. I had koni yellows and HR sport before and although great on street, you still have body rolls.

Which run group were you in? If you had constant traffic, it means you were too fast for the group.

I humbly disagree, I found Calabogie to have good left right rhythm, like the car dancing around the track!

I was in Group 3. I run B (Group 2) at Calabogie. Not sure why I was put in 3 at LCMT. I guess because I hadn't run there before, or perhaps because of the lack of anglophone instructors. It also didn't help that my instructor was late for every session, which put me at the back of the pack. For the last session I waited in the pit entry lane for half a lap before going out to make sure I had some room!

What suspension are you running now?
