Did a compression test on my 335i cylinders 1-5 195psi and #6 190 psi. For nearly 190k km im pretty happy. According to BMW target is 200psi with a +/- 30psi variance.

Excellent result for an engine with those kms on it.

Yep the motors are pretty strong the weak point is everything else attached to it. I was worried as I initally checked with a toolpro set from SCA and it was reading 125psi.

I suspected the gauge was faulty especially as there were a lot of negative reviews for the toolpro. Checked again with a mates motionpro gauge and got the above readings.

I ended up removing the plastic/rubber soft touch coating on various interior pieces of the car. I used some isopropyl alcohol and my fingernails to remove the coating, and finished off the centre unit surrounds with a Megiuars plastic polish.

I painted the plastic door pull and window surround pieces, as the door pull was too far gone and no longer had the same finish to match the window switch surround nicely. A very minor improvement all things considered, but glad to have finally sorted out something that was bugging me since I first inspected this car lol.

Thanks Coupes for sharing a DIY for the E92 door pull fix earlier at page 82!

Removed my VANOS filters/check valves to clean them. The top one was really bad. This car has not been well serviced in the past unfortunately, so i do this everytime i do an oil service.
