Here's a blast from the past-- I was looking through my old pictures for something completely unrelated and came upon this one.

My 2005 Imola Red e46 M3 with Velocity Motoring CSL replica wheels and a Koni/Eibach suspension setup.

That was a fun car. I regret selling it to a buddy years ago-- it was *pristine*.

Quick question: for general hiking/camping, would you bring 14mm f4 or 18-55mm f2.8-4.0 with intention of taking star trails or Milky Way pictures at night?

Prime will give you a better image overall, 14mm is really wide tho and it's only a F4. But since you mentioned 18-55mm, I assume you have a cropped sensor?

Yessir. Yeah my thinking is 14mm x 1.5 = 21mm would allow for more coverage with landscape. However, it is a full stop slower vs 2.8 on the 18-55mm. Would like to bring as little as possible but don't want to miss out on wide angle pictures. Can bring both if needed.

Decided to bring 14mm f2.8 and 35mm f2. I used the 14mm the most and didn't feel the need for 18-55mm. Worked out well.
