Here's the story. I thought this was a "neat" enough story to give it it's own thread....

Completely Unbelievable, but 100% True Story!

So I was supposed to take the car in this afternoon to have the exhaust removed so CP-E could get this thing manufactured and start selling these bad boys, but a time constraint issue forced us to reschedule. Obviously, I wasn't too upset, considering this gave me 1 more day with this exhaust.

So I'm driving home about 20 minutes ago coming down Wisconsin Ave in the Tenleytown area and I have to really WOT it to get past a car so I can change lanes so I don't get screwed. About a half a block later I pull up to a red light and a Silver S2000 slowly pulls up beside me and and beckons me to roll down my window. I'm thinking he was going to yell about me WOT'ing it a little back there, but he says to me in a fairly thick Italian accent, "The exhaust on your car, what is it? It has a very beautiful note" I then tell him it's a beta tester that this company CP-E up in Beltsville designed and just before he pulls away he say, "It's very nice, it really does sound beautiful."

As he pulls away, I'm thinking, I'm going to go home and post about this 'cause I think it's a pretty interesting thing that just happened to me.

As I pull up to the 1st red light at Wisconsin and Mass Ave I catch a glimpse of an older woman (motherly/50s/60s) in the passenger seat of a black, older model BMW 323 with Va Plates look at my car, look back to the driver and obsviously say something about my car because the driver then tries to sit up and look at my car. She (the driver) then catches my eye and asks me to roll down my window. She Says, "2007?" I say yes and says it very nice. I thank her and then her mother (assuming) says we were looking at your wheels too. I say they're actually M6 replicas and they both kind of get big eyes thinking that's pretty cool theyr'e from and M6. The driver then says to me that the engine or exhaust sounds very nice too. I thank her again and they both sort of giggle and say, "Like the driver." I smile and say thanks and we both pull away.

All in all it was a pretty eventful drive home and I thought it was pertinent to this GB...

So true...I had that happen on the way to work last week....he kept trying to get me to race his rusted-out honda (no offense to Hondas, they're great cars) with a damn battleship cannon for a muffler...way too funny....

something like that happened to me the other day with an old couple. was at fry's and when i got out they were checking the from of my car and i walked closer smiled at them and opened the door. the old lady asked me my grills looked really good, what did i do to them (matte black) just told them i changed it and they said it really matched the car (Blk sapp). that comment kept me going for the day especially when it was an old couple cemmenting.

and they were saying they have a 5er hahaha

these small comments do really make you smile

Swoop or Dinkoh... can one of you guys comment please on how much of the mufflers you can see hanging underneath the car when you look from the back with the CP-E exhaust? This is the only thing that is keeping me from joining the group buy... i'm still not sure how it looks from the back since all of the pics were taken from the floor and underneath the car that I have seen. It just annoys me when I can see mufflers hanging underneath this car. I appreciate it.
