330D 2008 m57 LOSS OF POWER SMOKING INTERMITTENT
Ok to start i will say i have tried searching to find similar issues but struggled.
Symptoms:- When the car is sort of behaving it has a lack of power to around the 2k mark but when its throwing a tantrum this can last from 10 minutes to multiple hours it wont even move it will cut out and smoke and just stutter if you try accelerating and stop or cut out. 1) The car does not have swirl flaps 2) Egr is clean and so is throttle body both seem to be operating as expected. with this checked vac lines replaced a few with silicone pipes 3) Fault codes below:- 1)Power Management closed circuit violation 2) Throttle Valve Actuator, Activation 3) Charge- Air Pressure Control Deviation 4) Rail-Pressure Sensor Signal 5) Air Mass flow sensor So any suggestions of where to go next tried unplugging maf when partially playing up and when fully playing up no difference and similar with throttle body. Yes i would love to take it somewhere for live data but bit of struggle unless have recovered as so intermittent with when and if she will drive fine and now using spare car. |

I would like to think that mate but all unplugging maf does is put engine light on, as the ECM doesn't know the intake air temperature, otherwise the engine will normally run pretty well. In my past experince usually with faulty maf if unplugged they run better is my past experince. So what makes you suspect maf sensor if unplugging does'nt change my fault?

If you have the same performance with the MAF unplugged as you do with it plugged in, doesn't that tell you something?
