Steering Wheel
I'm looking to buy a "thick" sport steering wheel for my 06 330xi. I have a non-sport air bag that will need to fit into the wheel. Looking for under $300 |

non-sport airbag will NOT fit the sport steering wheel, you will need a new one.

Thanks for the info. Is there any way to use the stock steering wheel and just stitch on a leather overlay in order to make the wheel thicker/sportier. Might be a cool project.

I put a generic DIY leather steering wheel cover on one of my cars years ago. It was a PITA, but looked and felt pretty good once completed. I just bought it at a retail auto supply store, like Kragen, or Pep Boys. Just make sure it's the right size.

I'm thinking about just buying one of those stitch on wheel covers and do the multi color m-tech thread stitching.

yeah that one just looks horrible. I'm thinking about ordering some suede, padding the back to make it thicker, and then stitching that onto the wheel. The suede would give the wheel an extremely racy look.
