"Service Standard Scope"

Always wondered what this means on a dealer invoice for servicing. Always seems to be there. Car was in yesterday for inspection and brake fluid and first line on the invoice was Service Standard Scope, think it had 2 units against it and a charge of £14 approx + VAT.

Is this just some kind of admin charge for the service advisor having taken the keys from you?

Plugging it into their system to see if it has any fault codes I think.

Yeah that's correct Paul.
Just had my 7 series serviced today at the dealer, which also included the 'standard scope' to check for any faults.

Service?? You have only just got it. Hope you got the cost of the service discounted against the buying price.

Haha, yeah I know!
When I went to first see it and looked at the OBC, it was due an engine oil service, so factored this into the price I paid for it

Lucky I checked!
