Know anyone that wants to buy a 130i with almost everything on it?

Kinda a newbie bit of a lurker till now. Bought a 335i for myself this xmas. Best decision I've ever made! Not sure why I am sat here typing instead of out driving! (Something to do with Gordon Brown....)

Evening everyone, just a very quick 'hello' to introduce myself.

I'm Mark, and yesterday I picked up a 2009 335d SE coupe in Dark Grey.

Prior to that I had a 2009 123d coupe, beautiful car, fully loaded with every option as it was an ex demo, but unfortunately it began to get the timing chain rattle, only slightly but enough to worry the hell out of me and wondering if I was driving a ticking time bomb and a 4k repair bill. Anyway, I chopped it in and got the 335d.

Wow, what a difference. First impressions:

Inside, slightly larger which is very welcome. Bonnet is much longer !
Much quieter, you can barely hear the engine !
Smooth, the engine is silky smooth and you can hardly feel the gear changes

Looking forward to getting to grips with it over the coming days.

I had iDrive before and I don't have it this time, so need to get used to the menu systems and how to change settings etc.

I'll post up pics and full spec when I get time

Cheers.

thought it was time I should say hello, I've been lurking around here for the last month or so since buying LCI E91 330d M Sport and to be honest you've all got a lot to answer for!! ...2 months ago my life didn't consist of any of these constant thoughts keeping me awake at night:-

- black grills or chrome ones? black grills or chrome ones? (black ones were installed this weekend!)
- keep the MV3s or seek some 19" BBS CH on non-RFTs? (a few months ago that sentence didn't even make sense to me!!)
- dare I take my car apart to install an Alpine Upgrade Kit?? (the amazing amount of knowledge & info on here makes me think I can and it'll probably be ordered this week??!) :-|
- how the hell am I going to get hold of some secondhand L7 subs?? (join the back of the queue I guess!)
- is Makkan00 my nearest coder?! (Hi Makkan!) ;-)
- what's my OBD Port Strategy??!

I've learnt a so much on here already, thank you!!

Hi, I'm this far *hold index finger and thumb 1mm apart* from buying a 2008 E92 330i, auto..

As you do, and as I have done before, I Googled "N53 330i problems" and saw quite a bit!: Ticking, noisy, coilpacks, high pressure fuel pumps/injectors..

..I did exactly the same thing when I was about to buy a 2004 E46 320D manual (150 BHP) coupe: swirl-flaps, waterpump, main thermostat, and the list went on.

What struck me then, and again now, is how difficult it is to relate and make objective views as to how often these issues do happen, as opposed to issues that can happen. I bought the E46 320D with 40k miles on it, had the ECU remapped (185 BHP) at 50k miles - it is now at 151k miles having nothing ever fail on it besides headlight bulbs. For me the lesson is - buy a decent car in the first place with FBMWSH and then keep it well serviced.

Nothing I've read of impending coilpack or HPFP/HPFI doom, for the N53 330i is going to stop me ..I will be getting it with a full BMW warranty however - I'm not completely stupid

Hi all,

Just signed up after lurking for a while whilst deliberating over the purchase of an E92/93 335i.

So after picking my new car up at the weekend here I am!

Ended up purchasing an '08 335i E93 in Le Mans Blue and I absolutely love it

Once I've got a few more posts I'll start a thread with a few pics etc, forum has proved to be extremely useful so far, I have no doubt it will continue to be so as well

New 330D owner

Hi,

Thought I'd say hello, I went to buy a cheap commuting car and ended up with a 2007 E92 330D instead! Looking forward to mining the forum for lots of info!

I'll post up in the relevant sections, but sad to say it's been a nightmare since day one. If i don't end up rejecting it, I hope to start enjoying it and perhaps add a few toys later on.

Hi Everyone.

Been a fairly long time lurker here to be honest.

Just bought my second BMW. Originally i drove this fine machine and loved her to bits...

A nice but fairly basic E92 320i, coming from the RX8 I used to drive this was great much better fuel economy and better on the motorway owing to it's cruise control. However....

I got a drive in my dad's E30 325i and at that point sadly the old 4 pot 320i always felt a bit hollow and not really what the whole BMW idea is meant to be, also being 23 at the age of purchase I was restricted somewhat. I wonder if it feels good sitting next to the 320i knowing that it ruined my love of a good car lol:

But having just come back from a little trip abroad with work and now being a year and a half older with 25 looming ever closer I bit the bullet and went looking for some 6 cyclinder fun. An Internet search and within 24 hrs I was sitting in the same dealership with the same dealer signing for the car I always really wanted anyway.

330i Lemans Blue in Msport trim happy bunny indeed.

Got pretty much everything you'd ever want on her with iDrive and plenty of optional extra's. The only things I have done so far is to debadge her, and give it a damn good clean.....but the fine people at the dealer will do me a cheap wheel refurb on the basis I kept my old wheels with Eagle F1 Assyms so I have this in mind....

So hope to hear some thoughts on the plans.., and hopefully get some good stuff out the forum!

It's a manual N52. Fantastic engine I drove an auto 330d and I liked changing gear....and the 335i I drove some time ago was in all honesty too easy...instant torque, and so fast it was an obvious license looser...so I settled on the lovely thing that is my 330. I liked the noise better on the NA too...but maybe thats just me?

Will do....I just wrote a long thread via the mobile app, then my post was not accepted. Just seen the new user rules!

I'll try again later but in short, thermostat issues, dead idrive, poor mpg, gearbox, trim, stereo, paint, dealer niggles, engine not starting.....car away at dealer for two weeks, and returned with problems......Apart from that its been fine!

P.S. is Lexus a swear word around here?
