Buying the Cobb AP v3 as a code reader
I've searched, and most of the cobb posts are about tuning. How is it as an easy DIY code reader? Obviously it's main advantage is for flashing and that's what you pay for, but is it also good for diagnostics?

I used a Cobb V2 for a little bit for that purpose. Kind of pointless, since it just reads the codes. The JB4 is a better code reader since it gives a description. In other words, V3 is a waste of money for that purpose.

Better off spending ~$200 on a bavarian technic diagnostic tool, which is in essence a BMW Diagnostic tool.
Cobb V3 is way too much money, even in the used market just to be used for diagnostics. |
