interferance from factory harness
I recently installed a pioneer DEX-P99RS head unit, and I'm getting a lot of interference noise, mainly an alternator whine and static.
I initially thought it was a bad ground on my amps, but I have since found that it's being generated from the harness. Given the limited space and the fact that I have 4 sets of RCA's running from the head unit, it's somewhat difficult to avoid cross-contact with the harness and RCA's etc. any ideas on how I can suppress this as the noise is driving me crazy, even when the radio is off and detached the noise is still audible. |

Have you tried a minimum configuration.
Then adding things in one at a time. Does the sound go away with all the rca's disconnected? If not does it go away when disconnected at the amp end. Try just the front door speakers to start . I assume you have amps or dsp's connected to it. The OEM system was designed for differential inputs . Not single ended since the rest of your system is not described kind of hard to even guess what's going on. |

Thanks Ctuna,
I managed to get rid of the noise, I moved all the RCA's out of the way of the harness, feeling rather stupid lol as I went to the extent of finding a new ground point for my amps. |
