newbie question about tires/rims

Hi all, first time posting. I hope my newbie question won't bother you guys too much. Here it goes, I'm currently looking at two pre-owned '09 335i coupes, they pretty much have similar options except the rim. One has the 18inch and the other has the 19inch. I was wondering what are the pros and cons with bigger rims? My friend told me that bigger rims require more frequent tire changing, not sure if that's true. Anyway, thanks for taking the time and hope to see your advice/anything you have to say.

19" sounds like sport package, which is a must.

Open the hood. If it has a strut tower brace (ish) then it's a sport.

yea it has the sports package. it's almost a fully-load. has the sports instead of m-package, but aero kit is installed separately.

I may be wrong, but wheel size affects the ride comfort more than anything else. Bigger wheels = harsher ride... I think

Better grip on turns with lower profile tires..right? Or am I losing my mind right now...

The 230's I are probably the wheels..those are nice stock wheels.

I don't know if the 18's come with Z rated tires but the 19's do I think. Those will wear down quicker but they're such a better tire for performance.

I guess we need to know more specifics..what size/brand of tires on each?

19" Light-Alloy Wheels Star Spoke (style 230) with mixed Run-Flat Performance Tires

Bigger wheels & lower profile tires handle better & produce better performance #'s, but suffer on fuel economy if the weight is greater than stock wheels/tires...
