LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

You two eh? I changed my injectors about a month ago and, like you, wasn't expecting a nice blast of gas in my face. I had to keep the rail covered for about 30 min as I worked my way down the injectors 1 - 6 cause it kept spraying gas every now and again.

I guess we know for next time to let it sit a while longer.

My car sat for a day. I even undid the negative battery terminal. I wasn't interested in the fuel pump deciding someone was in the car and then having fuel go everywhere. All it would take is a family member innocently going into the car to get something as are you putting in an injector...

I removed the fuse to the LPFP and let the car crank until it stalled before removing my injectors; no issues with fuel spraying out.

BS!

BMW tells you this because it messes up with emissions.

I am the first person who figured out how to code injectors. Check my threads.
I've been running mixed revisions of injectors in the same bank for over 3 years now. I have revision 8, 11, 12 all over the car. No issues whatsoever for the past 3 years.

You can mix and match in different banks but not in the same bank. You could have 1,3, & 5 in bank one & 12,11, & 12 in bank 2. However, you can't do 7, 11 & 12 on "a" bank. 1-10 mix in a particular bank. 11 & 12 do not mix with in a particular bank with injectors lower than 11.

Vasil is correct. I had undex 9 on cyl 1, 2 & 5 and index 12 on cyl 3, 4 & 6 for over 3y, 30k and probably 30 track days. Not being able to mix defeats the reason to have the injectors coded. DME will work the injector in accordance to the coding.

I have Index 1's as well, at 86k tuned since 60k and still running great. I bought Index 12's just in case but haven't put them in because the 1's are still going

So looks like I need all 6 injectors replaced. Just followed the link in this thread, https://m.buyautoparts.com/buynow/35-81218_6V

Current price $2,058.00, Original Price $2,983.00 Save 31% ($925)

Is 2K a good price for 6 injectors? I need them fairly quickly. In the next month or so.

The consensus in the other thread is to get them from oreillyauto.com or advance auto website. You can use discount codes to get it down to like $800 for all 6.

See pages 2/3 of this thread; https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...1571091&page=3

That is literally the worst price i have ever seen ever after savings the second worst price (worst price was before savings). Like noted above advance auto or orielly is the best price, otherwise the typical places like FCP euro for the 1200 range lifetime warranty.

Completely agree. Please do not spend $2000 on Injectors! Go to FCP or any other site.

For this price they should at least come with decouplers...

they do though. it's fairly priced for BMW injectors and the rings especially with a life time warranty.

if you want it same day at your local dealer, be prepared... lol

Just ask them to price match. I've never had a problem at any local dealership getting the parts guy to come within 10% of the lowest cost I could find, and I walk out with them same day.
Can't hurt to at least ask!
They know they're marking up way too much and they still make ducats coming close to others' prices, so most times they'll give you a deal.

Without too much question, the best day to buy an expensive item like index 12 injectors is Black Friday. If time and your car being broken is not a factor, wait.

Otherwise, I'd buy them from FCP Euro and get the lifetime warranty. Especially, if I was going to tune the car.

Have you tried? I don't think they can come down that low on the injectors. Please show me otherwise!

Check my old posts -- I bought new Index 12s from Mountain View BMW in CA for $7xx.xx out the door (including painful CA state tax). Caveat -- this was 2 years ago.
Parts guy came within $10ea of what I could get bmwpartswarehouse.com to ship them for. Picked up same day from parts guy.

Again, doesn't hurt to at least ask. It's not like the parts guy is a rich dude bilking everyone on his own. They're human (contrary to popular stealership belief) and most don't like to feel like they're ripping people off. LOL
