Replacing serpentine and power steering belt on my E91 (2007)
I decided to change the serpentine and power steering belt on my E91 from 2007. by myself. But before I begin I have 2 questions.
1. I know that the serpentine belt is tensioned by a belt tensioner (spring loaded) and I need to release the tension with a wrench in order to replace the serpentine belt, but how's power steering belt tension accomplished? And how do I release the tension from the power steering belt in order to put a new belt on? 2. Belt lengths. I know that the OEM number for the serpentine belt is 11288477780 and for the power steering 11287791786, but I was unable to find the exact lengths of those belts, for example, I found a serpentine belt with OEM number and it's length is 1830 and from different manufacture (with the same OEM number) the length is 1836. The same goes for the power steering belt, is the length 810 or 830? |

You won't find much info on Euro 4 cylinders here.
We didn't get them in the US . This board is about 98 percent US members.(only e9x in the 6 cylinder gas a few 6 cylinder diesels) If you where in the US I would tell you to go to FCP Euro(US company) and buy a kit. Is there not something like that online there. You might try the Euro sub forum here. https://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=274 |

WITH the last 7 Characters of your VIN, YOU or anyone else, can go to: 1) RealOEM.com: at the link below, enter the 7 characters in the search box, see your vehicle specifications (Engine, etc.) and get SPECIFIC PART NUMBER for components in YOUR vehicle: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select 2) newtis.info: at the link below, enter the 7 characters in the search box, and you can then get specific information, including maintenance procedures, wiring diagrams, etc. for YOUR model. You can even change to a language OTHER than English if desired (I don't think they offer "Trump-babel" ;-) https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/ TIS has so much information it is hard to find what you need at first and make sure it is for YOUR model, so don't hesitate to ask questions (furnish VIN-7) and we can help. Sorry, I forgot to mention, my engine is M47S, the last 7 VIN characters are K013910. Thanks for all the useful links, as far as I can tell by the newtis.info (https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...lement/ER5YZLa) I need a special tool in order to replace the power steering belt, and there's no tensioner on the belt. I'm still confused about belt length, I used RealOEM.com in order to find exact part numbers but when I search for replacement belts with those numbers I get different lengths.
