What tires come with 2010 335XI ?
Hi all,
I've just ordered a 2010 335XI (Monaco Blue/Black Leather, Sport Pkg, Premium Pkg, Cold Weather, Navi, PDC, etc.). The car comes with 225/45R17 RFT All-Season tires. Do you know what brand/name the OEM tires are? I've checked with the TireRack, there seem to be a couple of choices available: a) ContiProContact SSR - have very good reviews b) Bridgestone Turanza EL42 RFT - have very bad reviews c) ??? Thanks ! |

For the 2010 models, it says quite clearly in the brochure and bmwusa.com that the car comes with all-season RFT tires on 17" wheels. 18" is an upgrade option, and yes in that case it will be performance summer. Here are some snapshots from the on-line configurator AND brochure... |

It's a craps shoot...you can end up with either the Contis or the Bridgestones from the factory.

should of gone w/the 18 inch wheels - now you won't have an oil cooler -- doesn't really matter unless you are tracking the car - but its still nice to have an oil cooler considering these motors tend to "overheat"

I am almost positive that ALL CARS WITH THE 17" wheels get the contis. I haven't seen those bridgestone all seasons on any of the cars at the dealer, and I know my 08 xi and my moms 08 e93 both have the contis.
When you step to the sport with the 18" wheels, you have a shot between the bridgestones and the michelin ps2 zp. GL! EDIT: Well, looks like I was wrong about this. It is still possible to get the crappy bridgestones...Keep your fingers crossed for the contis, guys!

My 09 E90 with the style 284 wheels came with Continentals.
When I ordered the car the salesman told me it could come with either the Conti's or the Bridgestones. Fortunately mine came with the Conti's, although the salesman did offer to try and swap tires with another car on the lot if it had come with the Bridgestones.

Get the 18s for the oil cooler and sell the stock wheels to get rid of the runflats. I wish somebody had told me that before I got my xi without a oil cooler, lol.

Hey guys and girls. This is my first post on this board.
Picked up my 10 e90 335i with Xdrive on Saturday and it came with Bridgestone Protanzas. They are listed at Tire Rack as ultra high performance summer tires. Why would BMW put summer tires on all-wheel-drive cars? BTW my car has the ///M Sport package with 18" wheels. |

All-wheel drive isn't only for snow. It is simply for added traction in those situations where you may need. You got M-Sport which will always come with these options. I swap my summers out for some all-seasons during the winter months and will be putting the summers back on again in the Spring.
staggered 18's FTW...

17's are contis SSR and 18's are potenza's.
GET THE SPORTS RIMS 18's. I got the 17's and regret not spending the extra 600$. If you get sports apcakage and 18's they will retrofit you an oil cooler free

i have a set of 245/45R17 Conti's I got with my '09 e92xi (about 5000kms/3000mi on them)... I pulled them off to use the rims as my winters and going non-RFT this spring... so if you really want OEM BMW Conti's I'm willing to sell em!
