Think that route 2 is the way to go! Lots of opportunities to stop and take in the views as well, if we want to.

Post 39 Nicola on page 2. Gav has suggested 2 really good routes tbh and the scenery is pretty impressive.

Glad you're coming, it will be nice to meet you.

OK, I do need to know the petrol situation my car does 250 (hooning)-300 KM (not miles) to a tank so if the trip will be this far I trust we will have a petrol stop?

Likewise

Why not refuel when you arrive in Bradford, just before we all meet up? You should then have plenty for the Dales run which is approx. 80 miles round trip.

No worries, I'll also be checking out where the V power stations are lol.

Discovered over the weekend that 'hooning' uses quite alot of fuel.

Edit: good point Gav.

Helen - of course you have to pay for the pleasure What sort of fuel consumption does your turbo use on a day to day basis, if you don't mind me asking?

Went to South Lincs. over the weekend on the fantastic B1225 to Horncastle and it's always quiet. Road with longish straights, sweeping bends and tight bends so playtime obviously. OBC read high 17's to 18. My arms were aching a bit though tbh as the car isn't a handful as such but on our sort of B roads at 3 figures ahem, concentration is required but utterly fantastic I have to say, it is sooooooooo bloody quick.

On the return journey I picked up the A1 near Grantham, re-set the OBC and cruised my usual +20 if you know what I mean, and returned 24 mpg.

Driving to and from work last week it returned 22mpg, so not bad imo.

Suppose you have to work yours out on mileage and fuel used?

That's not bad at all really Helen. On my crawl into work, I rarely get above 40 and spend most of my time stop starting. I get a truly dreadful 17-18!

Hell, that's not brilliant is it. I think if my commute was similar to yours Gav then I dare say the mpg may plummet. I only have approx. 1.5 miles of City driving, the rest is dual carriageway and a decent single carriage 'A' road.

Don't forget no bugger comes to Hull so traffic compared to your way and around Leeds isn't bad and you can't pass through it eh - unless you want to swim to Holland perhaps lol.

Mine does the worse, 18 if being "goodish" 15/16 if hooning

With her car's heritage she needs to use an abacus.

True story: At one time I did my fuel calculations on a sliderule.

Not sure that this meet merits an official UK8 title?!

I had in mind a fairly low key affair and a good social evening. Certainly nothing as grand as the Carlos Fandango extravaganza!
