There's a drift event going on down in VA on March 9. I'm sure if they'll teach you anything though.

This is competitive event right? Sounds interesting, might go and take a look. Not a driving school though... my car hasnt got an LSD yet... so was looking for a school that has all the equipment for rent ( car etc...)

Skill and precision. It is very difficult to be good at it. Anyone can power slide a car, but to the level these guys do it side by side through a course is a testimate to their abilities. Anyone with a fast car can line up and drive in a straight line.

I don't think it's a competitive event. There are drift loop cutoff on certain areas of Shenandoah. Sessions alternate between the drifters and the hpde people. Both have access to the skidpad.

You don't need a LSD to start drifting. It is possible with open diff, but it's very difficult to sustain. For the skidpad, you won't need a lsd at all to sustain.

If you decide to go, let me know. I'll be at the event.

just to let you know, you can drift pretty well without and LSD.

My friend does it in his 240, and hes pretty damned good at it. Placed 4th out of 40 guys at the Etown monthly drift event.

I know you CAN, but it limits you pretty bad. It's better to get a LSD or just weld the sucker to really do some long chains.
