Adjust boot lid E92?

I was involved in an acciddent where someone rear ended me on the left side. My bootlid got dented on it's rear corner and also it was on there wonky, one side lower other side higher than the rear quater panel etc. I bought a new lid but I can't get it to fit, if I align it properly so that the body gaps are even all around the latch will not go in the hole where the striker is at all. I managed to align it so that it shuts, but the latch still scrapes the bottom of the striker and the plastic trim around it and also the rear of the lid sits a good 5mm inside the two rear lights like it's pushed in. Any guesses?

Did you replace the hinges? Seems likely that one or both would've gotten tweaked in the accident.

I did, if I mount it in the way the old one was, the boot lid sits on there like the old one
