tire suggestions?

Hey all

I am currently running 225/45/17 Pirelli run-flats

looking to purchase new tires

I have 12mm spacers on the front and 15mm on the rear

What I would like to do is keep 225/45/17 on the front and in the rear put 255/40/17

Any suggestion on brand of tires? I was looking at Riken or Kumho. I don't want to spend a ton of money on tires and I don't plan to do any sort of track driving.

If you think i should put different size tires, i am open to hearing suggestions.

thanks

Assuming you’re running 8” square rims, 255 will be too wide. You want at least an 8.5” rim imo. If you don’t have 8.5” for rear, another option is to run 235/40 square which is about 1/3” taller than stock. From what I recall 235/40 should not rub but def check with others.

Tire wise, really depends on what you prioritize (comfort, longevity, performance) and the weather conditions you’re subject to.

I have 17x8.5 in the back and 17x7.5 in the front (according to the guy at discount tire)

he said the biggest i could go is 255/40/17 in the rear

I agree 255 is most you could go on 8.5 but it’s strange that you have 225 on all 4 now yet your rims are staggered at 7.5/8.5. But TBH I don’t recall all the different wheel specs offered from factory. But if the tech guy says you have staggered rims the 225/255 is fine.

Ya. I asked him the same thing. Maybe they were different at first and the previous owner replaced with the same size around.

Come to think of it, the sticker in my door shows the front and rear tires as 225/45
