Driver side mirror - incorrect detent
My driver side mirror has a detent (locked position) which orients the mirror assembly too far outboard to see vehicles behind me. The breakaway feature works fine, I can manually swivel the mirror almost 180 degrees. The folding feature works fine, hit the round button and they both fold in and/or out. The circular power adjustment control works fine…it just can't tip the mirror far enough inboard.
My only solution, so far, is to gently manually rotate the whole mirror housing assembly toward me, off the detent, in order to see properly. I've tried the usual reset/reprogramming tricks. The passenger side mirror works perfectly, locks in correct position. Driver side detent appears to be misaligned, but it's integral to base plate, with no obvious adjustment. Assuming this makes sense…any ideas are appreciated.. Cliff |

all autofolding mirror have stopcheck lever wear or this lever can stuck
after that the mirror is not stopping correctly to fix that: 1. replace mirror assembly 2. drill small hole to that lever and try to grease and fix it 3. disassembly fully mirror assembly, to fix this lever problem, but you have to get somewhere new bushing because you have to break old non-removable bushing
