Car shipping recommendation

I'm planning to ship my car from NY to FL in the next month or so. Can anyone recommend a reputable shipping company? I'm looking to spend not more than $1k if possible.

I paid 450 about 2 months ago. Florida to NY is a very common run

I delt with a broker direct . He gets all your info . He ask you when do you want car picked up he tells you estimate prices that ask how much you want to spend . He will put lowest price if no one bites he will raise a lil. What ever you do ! Do not do those online quote .I had emails and calls on a daily basis for 2 months it was so annoying .

+17863434269 his name is nick very professional

I've used Montaway from Cali to PA. They cost slightly above average from what i saw...BUT if you want to transport personal belongings in the car, they were one of the few who would let you.

+1 to above comment, Definitely don't do an online quote, you will get nonstop calls and emails. Call each shipper individually.

I'm interested in this as well. I might need to ship in a year or so from NY --> FL

Here is what I learned from shipping from CA --> NJ
1) Do some of your own prep work, tape down your wipers to the glass and tape over the washer fluid holes.
2) Wash and wax your car near the time of transport
3) Take a video and pictures of the vehicle just before it's being given to the transport company (Including under carriage and roof + wheel if they might get curb damage).
4) Load up on Gas if it's cheaper from departure area
5) Don't expect that your car will be locked while in transport, they usually leave the car unlocked so any personal items could be at risk for being stolen.
6) Require that pickup and drop off be during day time only (So you can inspect for damage at pickup/drop off).
7) They try to offer door to door delivery, but usually the big trucks can't make it into residential areas. Make note of a near by Home Depot/Lowes/Major shopping center as an alternate pick up location... big trucks can easily make it into here.
8) If you can, I would tape up or Vinyl as much of the car as possible because you have no way of knowing if your car is on top/bottom/front/back/forward facing/rear facing/etc... other vehicles on that truck can drip oil/coolant on to your car or something can be flapping and damage your car paint... so keep that in mind.
9) Find out if the transport company is insured for damage to your vehicle and what the limits are and which insurance company they use.
10) Ask in advance what are the terms and claims policy if a claim needs to be made?

Great info!! I might just man up and drive it down. I figure $200 on gas and about $100 on a hotel room. Plus piece of mind knowing the car will be in my hands. A lot of those enclosed transports are over a grand.

My uncle used to work in Tampa and live in NJ. He would drive down and stay for about 2 weeks, and drive back up and stay another 2. I believe he would drive half way and get on a train with his car for the rest. I'll try to get you some more information if you're interested.

honestly, its more than that (i wish it was that simple)... i'm gonna be the debbie downer and bust some bubbles here:

1) on long road trips, people usually speed... which means more rock chips and bugs on the front of the car.
2) you are often driving in unfamilar locations which means a higher rate of error/issues coupled with you are not near home so you are out of your element for emergency repairs and far from friends (unless u happen to be near a friendly e90post member).
3) accidents, tickets, busted tires, failed water pump, etc... all common bad luck things always happen when you are in a loaded car on a long drive (Murphys Law)?
4) the cost of gas and tolls will usually be more than the shipping cost... save yourself the hotel costs and long mind numbing drive... ship it.

IMHO

Try the uship app. They make bids on prices to ship your car. I've used it for 3 cars to be shipped from Texas to NY (different directions). 1k should do it. I think I ended up going with montway's lowest bid or negotiated price through chat since they did well on my first shipment.

For 800 miles, this is a very expensive price and in your place I would not work with such irresponsible idiots. I recently decided to move my family to another country and wanted to move my car there because I didn’t want to part with it and then I started looking for different car transport companies, on the Internet and reviews about them. Everyone had a very bad reputation and then my friend who works in the field of logistics helped me. He advised me to contact the guys from http://www.a1autotransport.com. They were glad cooperate with me and then I decided to give them chance and thank god everything went perfectly.

Not to mention you advertise the exact same site that the last person did, who presumably got banned for doing just that. With the same weird, unnatural grammar.....

Was experienced with https://threemenandatruck.net/intern...overs-near-me/
They are pretty good. At least the cost was quite low.

Although my answer might be a bit late for you, it could benefit others who come across this post with a similar question. When it comes to shipping a car from NY to FL, I recently came across an interesting option while browsing online. I stumbled upon motorcycle transport services, which might be worth considering for your car shipment. A1 Auto Transport offers such services, and you can find more details at www.a1autotransport.com/motorcycles/. They have a good reputation and could potentially help you stay within your budget of not more than $1k. I know it's always a bit nerve-wracking to find a reliable and affordable shipping company, but exploring different options can increase your chances of a smooth and cost-effective experience.
