Burning smell coming through vents at idle
Hi All,
I've noticed recently that after driving for 20 or so minutes if I stop at a light, a burning/oil smell comes into the cabin through the HVAC system. Has anyone had this before? I think it might be the valve cover gasket but I'm not losing oil according to the oil indicator... Thanks!

I had this when my VCG was leaking oil into the little 'cups' on either side of FI's. Replaced the gasket, cleaned the oil, smell is gone.

You may very well have a VCG leak and the oil is dripping onto the exhaust, which you are then smelling - just a few drops is all you need dripping on that hot exhaust for this burning oil smell.
