E92 change FRM unit - FRM3 PL2 XR -> FRM3 PL2 Base
Hello guys,
please, do you have somebody experience with change unit FRM3 PL2 XR (on car is bixenon) (E92) to FRM3 PL2 Basis (E87). Yesterday I was replace them and change VIN and FO but my xenon high beam lights doesn't work. Here is my FRM MAN file. I try find out something, but without success. I read something about change pin, but I donīt know which. The second question is... How can I adjust a driver window. I mean... My window push out more than they need. So when I open the door windows doesn't go down and reverse... Thanks a lot! |

However, it will probably work. But PWM voltage will be wrong. After you changed VIN and VO, you need to code the module to default. Edit, I just saw your FRM is not from E90! Yes, very likely you'll have to change pins. Look at the wiring diagram on bmw new tis website. |

I detect second issue with rear lights, computer tell me left and right brake lights is broken. (Rear lights are on, blinkers works, reverse lights too, but I think brake lights are always on so when I push the brake I don't see any difference...) so I try this:
Find a wiring diagram for E87 and I tried change this pins: (P is pin) how it is in mine vs How it is in E87 E92 X14261 -> E87 X14261But lights doesn't work (any normal rear lights), only blinkers So I revert PINs back. Third problem: I have a problem with DRLs, I try change drl_s, tfl_s, tfl_h but without any changes. US Lights, blinkers, normal xenon lights, reverse lights, light packet... works well, but I don't know what to do with this issues... Any idea? I look to wirring diagrams and I found E92 has for xenon lights assigned in front headlight pins: 3,5,6 but I have from factory only 3 and 5 what is really wired... Old FRM module is FRM3PL2 E92 XE new FRM module is FRM3PL2 E87 BASIS |

The FRM3 PL2 Basis lacks physical components to properly open the bi-xenon shutters; thus, you can either buy a FRM3 PL2 XE or XR or MAX Brose which I suggest, or to rewire your car and reprogram the FRM to open the high beam on the halogen bulbs.
All E8X(this include E9X) FRM are the same, as it doesn't matter if it says E87 or E92 on them, only the options are different. Regarding your windows, after you properly code the FRM, start the initialization procedure in ISTA for them and they should operate normal. |

Problem with tail light:
I tried to put from PIN 9 to PIN 41 in X14261 but without any change... So I try a measure voltage on left side and right side (old wiring vs new wiring) and only one PIN is active and that was PIN 18 in X14260 (on the right side) all other pins has a zero voltage. I also try Quote:
DRL_TFL_MIT_SL_2 nicht_aktiv DRL_TFL_MIT_RL_BL_2 nicht_aktiv But without any change... Do you have any other idea? I actually don't know With front headlights I has only in headlight PIN 3 and PIN 5. It's original from factory (PIN 6 is missing). I try to measure PIN 5 with turn lights on, off and high beam on. Turn off - something about 0,25v, when I turn on is it something about 0,10v and highbeam the same (0,10v). |

Hello again,
So.. I tried a disable rear brake light checks, I also try change a rear lights disable with parking lights (but I don't know If options is correct what I disabled) and without any change, I also try a delete a short circuit and remove all error with INPA but any change. What I didn't try is change a PINs but whichone and why? I think maybe helps change a PWM but which... And last question what is difference betwen KALTUEBERW_RL_BL_2_L and KALTUEBERW_RL_BL_1_L KALTUEBERWACHUNG_BLK_H_L nicht_aktiv KALTUEBERWACHUNG_BLK_H_R nicht_aktiv KALTUEBERW_RL_BL_2_L nicht_aktiv KALTUEBERW_RL_BL_2_R nicht_aktiv WARMUEBERWACHUNG_BLK_H_L nicht_aktiv WARMUEBERWACHUNG_BLK_H_R nicht_aktiv WARMUEBERW_RL_BL_2_L nicht_aktiv WARMUEBERW_RL_BL_2_R nicht_aktiv Warm test Brake WARMUEBERWACHUNG_BL_MI -> nicht_aktiv Cold Test Brake KALTUEBERWACHUNG_BL_MI -> nicht_aktiv Warm test turn WARMUEBERWACHUNG_BLK_HI -> nicht_aktiv Cold test turn KALTUEBERWACHUNG_BLK_HI -> nicht_aktiv cold rear turn signal... Dude, first of all stop working on the wires.
If you have properly coded your FRM, your only issue should be the "high-beam" function of the xenon bulb. Any other error should suggest exactly what it says, E.G. brake light, check the brake lights (tip: you have 2 bulbs on each side). Also, when a short-circuit error occurs then you have a problem with the channel in which that error has occurred. I suggest that you visit a local BMW garage or you will brake this FRM as well. |
