i just noticed. when i go in INPA. select E90 and in body i select my frm2. i get an error which i just ok but decided to take note of it now.

it says:

SGBD Version: 3.000 (in INPA)
SGBD Version: 16.001
INPA Version: 1.030

this is exactly how the pop up shows. could this be the issue?

The car has folding mirrors from factory?
I've got some questions:
-are the windows working?
-can you adjust the mirror on the driver side?
-can you adjust the mirror on the passenger side?
-does the heating work for the mirrors?
-did you flash correctly with winkfp?
-post current vo from cas and nfrm

What fault codes shows Rheingold?

So let's get this right...

There is no power at all to your mirrors?

No angle adjustment?
No heating?
No power folding?

This seems like a power issue. Maybe a fuse?

When you installed the FRM2 is it correctly wired in?

Did you copy VO from CAS and write it to NFRM? If you just merely wrote vin and default coded the frm then that's not correct, you must copy the VO from CAS and write it to FRM and then code FRM

Step 2 means you won't need to use tool32 at winkfp can set vin also...

The basic steps:
1) Remove FRM, install FRM2.
2) Use WinKFP to program the module, make sure to enter your VIN-number before programming.
3) Switch to NCS-EXPERT. Get your Vehicle Order from the CAS module (as we are unsure of what the FRM2 module contains.
4) Write the Vehicle Order to module "FRM" using job "FA_WRITE"
5) Go back to the main menu (or restart ncs-expert) and get the vehicle order from the "NFRM" module. Make sure NFRM returns YOUR VIN and YOUR VO. We want the VIN (FG) and VO (FA) to be the same in both CAS and NFRM.
6) You now need to do the trick described by 4711 a couple of posts back, i.e. change the production date in the VO to at least #0307. If you don't do this, ncs-expert will not list NFRM (=FRM2) in the "Process ECU"-list and you won't be able to code it. Change the VO using the "Enter FA" option - remove your production date and enter #0307 (meaning march 2007).
7) Now click "Process ECU" and select "NFRM"

Then just code to default with expert mode.
It's been my experience that you should change the production date to 03/07 in the CAS before you code the FRM module using WinKFP & NCS Expert. If you don't, "NFRM" won't show up as an option.

Yes, i did by this example. It's a little strange to me, because then i changed VIN with WinKFP, new VIN in NFRM is different from CAS, just last 7 symbols are the same.
One more question, where can i get checksum? Or how to calculate it?
I have found another tutorial how to change VIN with tool32 but ir says to add VIN with checksum at the end.

ALL GOOD!!!
I found a solution. Followed this tutorial step by step and it helped.

http://blog.obdii365.com/2016/10/14/...et-update-frm/

This tutorial only shows how to set default values to FRM but it's enough. In this tutorial is not mentioned that you need change date in VO if you want to code newer version of FRM (in my case FRM2). After all steps just go to FRM code your stuff you want as usual. CHEERS

Just in case I will paste tutorial here if page will be removed.

EDITED:
I skipped all WinKFP steps from this tutorial

This is a customer solution on how to use BMW coding software NCS Expert WinKFP to read/backup bmw cas and frm, how to write win and vo to frm, how to reset frm default and how to update frm. Try at your on risk!

FRM fix list:
NCS expert read/backup cas and frm
NCS expert write VIN and VO to FRM
NCS expert reset frm default according to VO
WINKFP update frm
WINKFP trying to locate the zb or zusb

NCS expert read/backup cas and frm
goto work folder delete nettodat.trc and fsw_psw.trc
file
load profile
expert
f1 fg/zcs/fa
f3 zcs/fa f. ecu
r56
cas
f6 back
f4 process ecu
cas
f2 change job
codierdaten_lesen (reads coding from ecu)
f4 reading ecu
goto work folder move nettodat.trc and fsw_psw.trc to a new folder CAS Original make files read only
f1 change ecu
frm
f4 reading ecu
goto work folder move nettodat.trc and fsw_psw.trc to a new folder FRM Original make files read only

NCS expert write VIN and VO to FRM
file
load profile
expert
f1 fg/zcs/fa
f3 zcs/fa f. ecu
r56
cas
f6 back
f4 process ecu
frm
f2 change job
fa_write (writes FA aka VO to ecu)
f3 execute job
f2 change job
fgnr_schreiben (writes FG aka VIN to ecu)
f3 execute job

NCS expert reset frm default according to VO
goto work folder delete nettodat.trc and fsw_psw.trc
file
load profile
expert
file
edit profile
click FSW/PSW
uncheck FSW-/PSW-Manipulate with FSW_PSW.MAN
OK
OK
f1 fg/zcs/fa
f3 zcs/fa f. ecu
r56
cas
f6 back
f4 process ecu
frm
f2 change job
sg_codierren (writes coding to ecu)
f3 execute job

WINKFP update frm
f1 Comfort mode
f3 update ZUSB pick FRMR3
f4 enter vin
f8 done
f3 prog. zb-update
I don’t remember the rest from here but it updates the FRM. It takes 5-10 minutes and there is a progress bar.

If WINKFP update frm doesn’t work.
Updating WINKFP using BMW Coding Tool
extract the datens for your chasis into a folder
open BMW coding tool
select sp-source
choose the folder with the extracted datens
update WinKFP

WINKFP trying to locate the zb or zusb
(I don’t know)
f1 Comfort mode
f3 update ZUSB pick FRMR3
f4 enter vin
f8 done
f5 diagnosis
f1 ecu status
f2 ecu ident
