Solar glass in e90

My windshield is cracked and insurance will be covering the cost of a new windshield through the dealership (confirmed OE glass not Fuyayo etc.)

I am interested in retrofitting "solar glass" which came with the "climate comfort" package in the e91 in north america.

Is it possible to retrofit an e91 windshield to an e90 without issue? I am only assuming they are the same fitment.

Car is an LCI e90 with rain sensor and auto climate control.

Can someone confirm if this part # will suit my application? 51317203857

I'm sorry I don't have your answer, but what is the solar glass opposed to regular if you don't mind me asking?

TIA.

It's the glass that comes with the "climate comfort" option. It has a UV reflective layer between the glass layers and is supposed to keep the interior significantly cooler. If you see an S-class with a purple windshield it's the same thing.

It has a UV Reflective coat integrated to help with the sun. It's the purplish glass you may have seen on some cars

Sourced locally in Canada. They were an option for e91 here so there are some kicking around... although its costing me a fair bit more than what insurance is covering. Should have it installed next wednesday.
