Arkym front lip?
Arkym lip: http://www.pyspeed.com/ARKYM-BMW-Add...-e92msport.htm
I have always been considering to purchase the Arkym front lip for Mtech bumper. However, I always worry if the arkym front lip will be easily scraped expecially for those who lower their cars. Can anyone who has the experience with arkym lip share your experience in driving with the arkym front lip on your car? Is your car lowered when you have the arkym lip on? If so, how low is it? A photo will help. Is the arkym lip all scraped now? Or anyone actually raise their car with coilover/keep the stock height in order to drive with the arkym lip? Do you guys think the Arkym front lip worth by losing the aggressive stance/height? I wonder if the Arkym front lip could still be scraped if you were at stock height. Sorry for too many questions about this lip. I really have to think carefully before I take out that amount of money to buy that lip. If not the arkym lip, my other option is the CF splitter. I like what this forum member did to the splitters. I might go for his route. Here is the link of his car. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=365368 Anyway, please share your experience with the arkym lip if you have one before. Here are few photos of my car on coilover now. I like this aggressive stance, but just not sure how it looks if I raise my car's height in order to install the arkym lip. |

The lip does make the front end lower. You should check out this epic car with the Arkym lip!

completely understand ur cause 4 concern, especially since it's a pricey lip...
my solution so that it wont scrape underneath would be 2 get an under splitter. hit up ltbmw.

I was in the same position as you..
KW V3 here, and It will SCRAPEEEEEEE!! So, in other words... What I did was order a new lip that is much cheaper and yet, still fit. I contacted the vendors and they successfully told me it will fit 100%. e92 M-tech/M-sport just like the ARKYM. I ordered it last night and should receive it within a few days Heres the link: http://www.jl-motoring.com/BMW_E92_E...p/bmfs9206.htm These are a couple examples of the lip. Below: are the ARYKM lips. To show you the ride height. Speed bumps, potholes, or even different elevation of roads. Not to mention just rock chips. Hope this helps.

I'm gonna pull the trigger on this and the diffuser soon...to me it's worth it.
I have the vorsteiner lip right now and you just have to be careful pulling into parking spots with parking blocks/etc...

Jealous that you could afford the risk of the CF lip being scraped. How low is your car now? Share some pics with me after you install the arkym lip.

Nice car. So you no longer have the arkym lip on the car? Let me know if you consider to sell it. I'm surprised that your arkym lip is still in decent condition even though it fell off on the highway. Your car is pretty low as I saw the pics. How do you feel about driving with the arkym lip on and with the low height? Do you frequently hit the ground or speed bump with your arkym lip? I guess the feeling is depressive everytime I hit sth with the arkym lip.

Im on H&R sports and have a apr racing front splitter (i know not the same) but it doesn't scrape usually. Just have to take every speed bump at an angle. Better to hold up traffic than damage my front!

The lip is just collecting dust in my dorm room. I never hit with or without my lip ever. The only time it hit was on the highway for 2 seconds then i pulled over and took it off in middle of the highway (stupidest thing i did in my life). It feels really good driving around with it. I rather have the lip get hit then the bumper, because the lip is easy to buy its about $930 but a oem mtech bumper gets ripped off is like $800 plus paint like $300 and the wait and all that bs. If you want send me a reasonable offer via pm if interested. |

Get the Arkym lip, it is my favorite part of the car right now, looks 10 times better in person and yeah that JL motoring lip is fugly as h3ll, just make sure you put a lot of extra screws and 3m tape when you put it on the bumper and you will be fine at high speeds.
Also hit up **********s for best prices around.

The Arkym front lip does look amazing on both the E92 pre lci and lci models. Jonathan (OP), you could always raise the car up a little bit to make for a bit more clearance!

Alan, I want to get more info about what the appropriate height is if I install the arkym lip without losing the aggressive stance too much.

I'm telling you..you'll be fine. That lip doesn't sit any lower than mine does and I'm on pretty low. I don't scrape on the road ever. And the roads in San Antonio are shitty. You just have to angle on speed bumps/etc....

Hey guys, I don't want to make mess and create new thread, so maybe someone can help me. I really love this front bumper lip, its just look awesome and I want to purchase it. Problem is that, I can't find it in ANY european shop.... (I'm from Poland). Each one I found was from US and shipping costs are the biggest problem, because most of sellers toled me, that it gonna be about 150$ so its really expensive for me (1$ cost 3,8PLN and we got smillimar salary ) for lip which I will scrap all the time and thats why I dont want carbon one, laminate will be great.
So... guys, can You help me to find one from europe (ofc replica) ? Or maybe You can know who sells one but not from carbone (cheaper) and can send it do Poland for less than 150$ ? I will appreciate all help. best regards ! Last edited by nerfyo; 05-18-2017 at 07:43 AM.. |
