Genuine blinds or window tints?

As per the title I'm considering one of the above options to keep the sun out of my 16 month old daughters eyes.

From the experience of people on here would you say that having the windows tinted would be enough for the job in this case? If so how much should it generally cost to have done and are there any things to steer clear of?

If not the tinting option then the genuine blinds set would be around the £180 mark from a quick eBay search.

I went with factory shade tints on mine as my 2yr old daughter loved grabbing at the blind material on my old car (audi s4 with geniune pull up blinds) and eventually broke the clip!

The tints do the job and both children in the back never hold their hands up over their face or anything, so it seems to have done the job.

Practically, tints work best for me now, but the're not everyone's cup of tea. Did like the blinds on the old audi though, and they block more sunlight out - but i've gone reasonably light on the tint shade so its doesnt look to "pimp" (wifes words not mine!)

For ease I would say that tints would be better however the blinds do a better job at cutting out more of the sun.

(I have individual sunshade glazing and rear door blinds in my e90)

I've got both on my mine. My car came with factory tints but they do not do a good enough job of cutting out glare for my little girl when she is sat in the back.

I bought some Climair Sonniboy blinds from Amazon.de as they were cheaper than Amazon.co.uk even though they were sent from the UK.

They do a great job and would definitely recommend them. It is nice having the option of both blinds and tinted windows though. Taking out and putting the blinds in is a 5 second job.

I've got the factory fitted sun blinds on my car no tints, and they are pretty good but haven't had much chance to use this summer on account of the lack of sunshine in Glasgow this year

Thanks folks.

I think blinds will be best option on account that they take out the most sunshine and can be easily removed. Hopefully Bethany won't be able to reach them!

Do both lol. A nice tint will help stop the UV side and look good while the blinds will stop the most sunshine and dazzle/glare.

What RajB said! Both is good. Take the blinds out in the winter time as they are hard to see through.

The fit on my Climair ones is very good and tight. There is a knack to getting them out so I don't think your little girl will manage too easily to take them out.

Blinds all the way, they also have the advantage that you can open the windows and still get the benefit. I'd recommend OEM blinds over aftermarket as the non genuine ones I bought are crap at staying in place (relying on self adhesive tape to hold the brackets, then the glue melts in the sun...).

When I had my e91, I was in the same dilemma.
Oped for blind so during winter times, I can remove it and have a bit of light inside the car.
Worked really well IMO.

Cheers folks. Blinds ordered and should be here at the beginning of next week. Seems pointless with the weather as it is today

I'd be interested to see how the genuine ones fit (the actual fitting system).
