Hmmm... the new car and driver said that the M3 wouldn't have a DSG type transmission initially at launch, but it would come later on. I guess only time will tell.

a friend of mine who is #3 on the waiting list at paul miller bmw in wayne, nj told me about this a while back. he got this transmission.

Leftlane News said availability began in March 2008.

If it is as good as Volkswagens DSG, I would prefer it over the manual!

BIG MISTAKE for bmw to do this. The VW/Audi DSG is all nice and watnot but no question the SMG is way nicer. SMG is a full manual trany with an automated clutch, so you can rev match, burn out, launch, double clutch with SMG but with DSG its plain old manual, there is no blipping the throttle then dumping the clutch. so big mistake for bmw to do this. sorry but i have an Audi A3 with DSG and it got boring in 2 months thank god i have other vehicles which are all manual or smg.

Have said since before the E92 was launched that its comming

Many many threads on ZSG as it was first known

Now its called DCT

M-DCT will be launched on the M3 from March 2008 production

Normal DCT will be out in non-M cars a bit later

the new GTI rev matches and has launch control now so its not so bad. Post pics of your A3 please. They look so good in white when they are modded
