e90 to e82
So here is the story...
I have a 2009 e90 328i with 43.5k miles on it. Base model. It is black on black. The car does have a salvage title. I was just searching around and a 2008 e82 135i popped up. This car is also a salvage title has 45k miles on it. White with red interior. It also has sport packed, the bmw performance rims, navi, and a bunch of other crap. My dilemma is should I trade my car for his? He is looking for a bigger car. The only negative I saw on his car was that the driver seat was a little worn. Here are some pictures. What do you think? More info on why it was salvaged would help with peer input

sure, the damage was from the front of the vehicle. I don't mind it being salvage as I have been dealing with salvage cars for almost 4-5 years and have had problem with 1/10 cars that I have owned. It wasn't too bad and the repairs were done probably a 8/10.

You're crazy not to. I pulled the trigger and love every moment of it. Other than the fact that i have to start from scratch with mods now.

You have an LCI 328i vs a non LCI 135. Sure, it's faster and has nav, but the nav is the slow old iDrive.
I would stay with your LCI. You have nicer finishing on the interior and yours looks pretty nice.

Thanks for responding to my question. If I were ME, I would keep the 328i, but thats only cuz im 6'9" tall and a 1 series would be the as funny as me owning a mini cooper. But if you can fit in one then get the 1 series. I agree with your opinion about salvaged cars, unless the frame is cracked.

If everything checks out OK on the other guys salvage title, I say definitely do it. Bring a mechanic with you to check the car out.

I clicked e82, ready the story, and decided e82.
Then, I saw pics of your e90.... I may change my mind.

We can't choose for you. The 135i is lighter, more powerful. Its clearly the driver's car. If you don't need the space, on paper it is better. Now its also ugly, that's why I don't want one.

I did take a look at the car, and I wouldn't be buying it either. The guy wants way too much for it, $20k? when a clean title that is newer and has been taken care of is only $24k. He beat the car and when we went for a test drive he still beat it in front of me. I would probably stay away. The pictures in the ad seem like they are from when he bought the car. The seats look like they are from a 1990's car, that is how worn out they are.

I wouldnt regret that either lol. you went from 2006 to 2008 from a 325 to a 135. my situation is a little different, I am going from 2009 to 2008. and also 328 to 135. I pulled away from this but I am now looking for either a z4 coupe or an e92.

I have carbon fiber splitters also looks just like the ones you have on. I was wondering how they would look. That is a good idea to have them painted before mounting them. Did you use the screws that are under there or did you use some different screws? Or did you have a shop put them on? Thanks
