G37S...

...walked one

Was on Father Capodanno Blvd in Staten Island, at the intersection before Sand Lane - it was 11:00AM, no cars at all. I saw him standing at the light, pullled up, he revved, it was on.

I have a 6MT and am completley stock. 1st & 2nd it was pretty much bumper to bumper. Switched to 3rd and he was in my rearview. He pulled up at the following light and said "it was either this or yours, I should've got yours".

Thats all, carry on.

Precisely why I don't want to get tuned. If I was, I wouldn't be worried about taking the G37's, its the Lambo's that I would be after.

Its not the CDV thats causing your whiplash, its beast under your bonnet. That's your culprit.

that CDV delay is what really makes the kick from the engine turn into a buck.

Ever since I smoked that one G37 Ive been trolling around Long Island and the Belt Parkway like a shark searching for prey. The only thing Ive in the last 4-5 weeks were 6 G35's and only 2 bit and a bunch of 328's. I swear before I got my ride I thought I saw a ton of 335's in Long Island.

Thanks man.
Yes and no to the second part of your question, only because on paper I should've technically pulled away on the him from the dig. Especially since we have more torque than them; its at the higher speeds that they should pull away due to their higher horsepower (and thats being very forgiving, especially since Japanese car makers tend to overstate their HP).

Its basically a valve that slows down the engagement of the clutch, some choose to remove it - I really don't care as I don't burn my tires that often.

Read more here: http://www.zeckhausen.com/CDV.htm - you don't actually have to install the "modified CDV", you can simply just take it out.
