Weld on exhaust tips

Hi, im interested in changing the exhaust tips on my 330i (e92), and after finding out bmw uk cant supply chrome slip on tips it looks like weld on is the next option. Has anyone got some fitted, and if so who fitted them? (looking for a garage in the lincs/s yorks/notts area)

Yes, I'd be interested in this. I looked at the Dimisa tips from the USA, which seem top quality. But my local exhaust shop were all "oooh, welded on Sir, hmm not sure about that...."
So, is it an easy job or not. The standard tips look weedy on a 335i.

Mike.

I was wondering about this, I want to replace mine with new ones if possible, mine are all blackened and beyond cleaning. I want them to be shiny again!

Just another idea outside of chrome but still different than most factory tips.

If you would prefer a bolt on option, we have some black chrome tips available which were originally for the E46 discounted which may work depending on the size of your existing exhaust tips. They are black and 55mm diameter x 65mm length.

Click HERE for more information and to order

Chaps.

ANY EXHAUST PLACE CAN DO THIS.

It's easy. It will take them less than an hour.

This topic comes up over and over. It's really a case of an internet search too far. Just pop in to an exhaust place, tell them you want new tips, browse a catalog and order them.

I paid 70 for mine fitted on the 320d, job done

Right then Dave, have a quiet word with BOTH local places I asked.

And I quote "ah well no, welding on stainless steel Sir, not easy.......hmm can be done but can't guarantee results........"

OK maybe I was unlucky, but I got the impression it isn't as simple as people suggest?

Tell me a place near Southampton that will weld tips happily for sensible money and you can have a big E90Post hug.

Can't say fairer than that.

Mike.

+1 what MEGA said. It does come up over and over (though he always manages to get his word in first! lol)
Though I can't blame it for being kept on discussed - probably the best visual mod (after alloys) I made to the car. 45min and £75 for me, couldn't beat it! Any welder who couldn't manage it isn't worth a damn!
