I've read countless threads here and even the one with the 400 links on it that keeps getting posted. Thanks.

I am looking for an upgrade that won't break the bank and be as stock as possible. Options that I've seen are Bavsound, Alpha One....

Would adding tweeters help?
What about switching out the stock subs under the floor to something else?
Same with mids?

I upgraded today to Bavsound Stage 1. Thanks everyone.

Added 10" sub in the trunk along with nice amp along with the Bavsound Stage 1. Car sounds ridiculously nice now. Next up, I plan to order the "A" sills so I can install the tweeters... why? Because I can and I think it will help with the highs. :-)

Also be sure you are talking about the base stereo and not opton 676 hi fi which is also pretty bad. In order of thing that are bad no amp tweeked eq cheap and small speakers that won' handle that much power.
