Help me choose e92.

Hi,
Im looking to buy an e92 for under 8k, due to my age (21) the 335d and the 330d are out of the budget - insurance costs.
Ive owned my a4 b8 1.8tfsi for 4 yrs now and im looking to move onto a e92 auto as I love the looks and heard its a rather rewarding drive.
Since starting research, I seen alot of differing opinions about the various engines and problems. Just wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with the 325d e92 and which is the most reliable engine?
I had my a4 mapped to 210bhp but I think I would be keeping the e92 standard to preserve the engine.
I am completely new to posting to these forums so apologies.
If anyone has any tips on what year car to look for that would be appreciated.

Anything with an N52 motor - so a 2006-07 E92 in Europe.

I’d avoid the N53 and N54. The less said about the 4 cylinder motors, the better.

Have little experience with diesel motors in the USA though.
