More info
Very clean & well looked after car in my favourite colour combo of Sapphire Black metallic with Dakota Lemon leather interior. I was looking for a good one of these with this spec and I found this one late in 2020, buying it in early 2021. It had a 3 stage detail polish when I bought it in January 2021 and the genuine BMW MV3 alloys were also refurbished in gloss black, this was 12 months ago and I’ve washed and waxed it regularly, it’s gleaming. Genuine reason for sale discussed towards the end of this description.

No expense has been spared on this car for most of its life and certainly in my ownership, and it’s condition is testament to it’s former owners, not just me. There have been a few former keepers (6) but don’t let this put you off, it’s as solid as it gets for what’s becoming a rare 330i M-Sport E90 in this condition and certainly this level of spec, which is substantial. There is an outstanding amount of history bill/invoices of works carried out throughout the years to back this up as well (see photo).

Mechanics
Mechanically sound. Engine, gearbox, braking system, suspension etc. is all solid. No oil leaks, no nasty noises, no rattles, taps or hums, & it's very smooth ride. All brake pads were replaced in January 2021, I then had the front discs replaced in November 2021 & the front pads were also replaced at the same time, as is standard when discs are replaced. The car has been regularly serviced it’s whole life, with an extra oil change in September 2021. Exhaust system is good.

Interior
Interior consists of BMW Dakota Lemon leather, with silver/black trim & anthracite headlining. No rips or tears in the seats and the inside is a very nice place to sit. Cup holders front & back. The drivers seat isn’t as bright as the others as you’d expect, but there are no tears and wear is minimal, other than that minor point the leather is in fantastic condition & still nice & bright. There is the odd age related mark inside the car but nothing unusual (it's not a new car). Overall it’s very, very clean. All electrics for both front seats work perfectly.

Exterior
The exterior of the car is great. It had a 3 stage detail polish when I bought it in January 2021 and the genuine BMW MV3 alloys were also refurbished in gloss black, it’s really shiny & vibrant, & really does look great. There are age related marks as you’d expect, but you have to look for them and any stone chips were touched up nicely prior to my ownership. Please remember though that this is not a new car and as such there are small marks here & there.

Electrics
Everything works as it should (to my knowledge). When I bought the car the iDrive system was a bit lumpy. I had it investigated at BMW and as a result I had the Bluetooth/telematics module replaced (Chandlers BMW at a cost of £521.88) and the iDrive controller replaced (by Chandlers BMW at a cost of £465.71), and the CCC unit reconditioned (Revtronics at a cost of £375.00). This work was carried out throughout 2021, so everything to do with those systems including phone bluetooth connectivity, sat nav, TV, CD player, DVD player, and the Entertainment, Communication, Climate, Navigation menu's/functions work as new. All the above work and the new units are also covered under warranty by BMW and Revtronics respectively.
Adaptive Cruise Control is great & works perfectly, all lights/bulbs/windows etc. & anything else that uses the electrical system including the front seats & their functions, parking sensors, rain sensor etc. lights (interior & exterior) works without any known issues.
* The only exception to this is the CD multi-changer in the boot which doesn’t work (it has power and is functional), I don’t know why & I’ve never investigated it purely because I don’t use CDs any more.

Spec
This car has a very good spec. A lot of car ads say this but this really is the case with this car, and I have the vehicle specification enquiry print out to back this up:

· BMW iDrive
· Parking sensors front & rear
· Auto dimming rear view mirror
· Adaptive cruise control
· Light pack (incl. door handle LED lights)
· Bi-Xenon lights
· Electric folding mirrors
· Electric bolster control
· Enhanced Bluetooth connectivity
· Professional Navigation System
· Auto lights function
· Extended Interior Light package
· Rain Sensor
· Digital TV (freeview channels)
· Fully electric front seats + driver memory
· Lumbar support
· Dakota Lemon leather
· Auxiliary input/output
· Puddle lights
· Multi functional steering wheel
· Shadow line rear light clusters
· SOS system

* Aftermarket adjustments (before my ownership):
1. Refurbished (original wheels) MV3 Spider Spoke alloy wheels in gloss black
2. Black Grille
3. Smoked side repeaters
4. M-Sport lip spoiler on the boot

More Information
Being the M-Sport spec it as the M-Sport suspension, M-Sport aerodynamic body trim, Anthracite headlining, M-Sport steering wheel & exterior high-gloss shadow line trim. It’s a very nice car, and drives as it should. It’s solid, sticks to the road, and the 3 litre straight six drivers engine partners up very well with the more M-Sport performance set up of the car. The colour combination of Sapphire Black with Dakota Lemon Leather is a lovely combination, and the gloss black wheels and black grille set the car off really nicely.

Loads of service history present as mentioned above, including old MOT certificates, and although it was in good condition when I bought it, I’ve spent £3917 getting it exactly how I want it, with all the receipts to back that up. I was going to hang on to this car for a very, very long time - I love the engine, the stance of the E90, & what BMW did with the 330i in this spec, it’s easy to see why the E90 won world car of the year when it was released.

However plans change & here we are, which begs the question: “why am I selling such a good car then?” especially when I've spent a small fortune on it. It’s a genuine sale & in a nutshell I need to help my mother-in-law in the purchase of a new car & this is the most economical way of doing that (....I can't sell her). I genuinely would prefer not to let it go, it's a fantastic example.

The work I’ve carried out in the last year to get it to where I wanted it is as follows:
  • New starter motor
  • Both front heated washer jets replaced
  • New Bosch windscreen wipers
  • New OEM wiper caps
  • Oil Change (Sept. 2021)
  • Replaced Bluetooth module (new & under warranty, Chandlers BMW)
  • Replaced iDrive Controller (new & under warranty, Chandlers BMW)
  • Replaced front brake hoses
  • Replaced engine breather pipe
  • Had the CCC head unit re-conditioned (by Revtronic, under warranty)
  • Brake hoses replaced
  • Minor oil leaks due to stress bolt failure (discussed below) rectified
  • New discs & pads on the front (rear pads are only a year old)
  • Air Con re-gas
  • Brand new MOT
  • When I bought the car, unbeknown to me there were two minor oil leaks due to failed stress bolts. Chandlers BMW rectified one of these at a cost of £648.73 on the 15/06/21, the other was rectified by Alan Robertson BMW Specialists in Hove at a cost of £435.58 on 16/09/21.

To sum it up
This is a genuine sale of a much-loved car. I’ve been up & down the country in it over the last year & it’s never skipped a beat. It’ll eat up the motor way miles without batting an eye lid & it’s a pleasure to drive around town as well, in fact it’s a pleasure to just stand and look at. MPG-wise you’ll get anything from low 20’s – mid 40’s depending on how you drive. Chances are if you’re looking at this then you already know everything there is to know about the reliability and legendary status of these N52 straight six, 3 litre engines. The 6-speed auto gearbox is as smooth as you’d expect from a well-maintained BMW.

I’ve been honest and the photo’s represent the car and are not filtered or edited in any way. Please remember that it is a 55 plate (2006 model), so it isn't a brand new car, however it is a very well looked after and cared for car with full service history, with a brand new MOT, and in excellent condition.

I’m putting it at £6500 ono. I’m happy to chat on it & sensible offers will be considered & it'd be great if it went to someone that's as into these cars as I am, but you can see from the photo’s (if my links work, if not please let me know!, from it’s mileage for the year, from the service history, from the aesthetic, mechanical and overall condition of the car, from the money I’ve spent on it getting it to where I want it - including the fact it’s got a brand new MOT - that there’s only so far I’m happy to chat on it.

Viewing welcome at a mutually convenient time

The car is located in Hove, East Sussex
