A little help with wheels and headlights
I recently got a 2010 328i E90, . I'm looking to get some wheels. Car looks to be a basic spec. I believe it's LCI.
Car color - Titanium Silver Metallic Currently on the car - 225/45/R17 Light alloy V-spoke wheels style 285 - square I believe the wheels to look for have to be 5x120. At size 18 I'm looking to go with 18's. What size should I be looking for. I'm not looking to roll the fenders. I also what to get white full halo lights. There are so many options with BMW's I'm not sure exactly where and what I need. Here is the info on my headlights: Valeo E90/E91 LCI 89318961 7202578-04 H7 H7 PY24W H 10 W Thanks in advance for any and all help |

Not a base spec with 17s - base are 16s.
Personally, I’d stay with 17s and get some really nice tires - Continental DWS are my personal choice (or the SRS+ which are the same model but are Discount Tire specific). What’s the maintenance history on the car? |

I need tires since it sat for so long. I like dw06. Had them on my other car. I was looking to do 18s for more wheel presence. But can do 17 and just get tires....maybe. I do want to do something with the headlights. I have to clear up the oxidation on them and have some cerakoat kits. |

I agree with you on the tire size - 18's just make the ride worse, are more liable to get bent, and cost more for tires. But if the OP is insistent on 18s, there are a bunch of different OEM BMW wheels that fit. Or a million aftermarket options. Tirerack.com is a good place to go for the necessary bolt pattern and offset specs.

Oem 18x8.5 with a 255/35/18 rear
18x8 with a 225/40/18 front. That gives the car a little bit of a better appearance with a staggered set of wheels. The 17s do offer a smoother ride with more tire sidewall. OR 16s with balloon tires and you can’t feel a thing. HA. The the headlights, you need to find “lci halogen angel eye bulbs” There’s a bunch of options and brands. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw...+bulbs&_sop=12 |

I don't see how having 18s make you more prone to wheel damage. I think Toyota Corolla come on 18 now-a-days. I do to want to sacrifice any car integrity but 18s are standard within this very BMW E90 line up. Again I do appreciate any and all info. This is my first bmw and I had no idea so many variants existed for the same model |

Put another way, if my cars didn’t come with 18s already on them, I would never have abandoned the 17s. They do look nice though, especially the Style 71s on my old 330Ci. But I digress. And with the value package, it was a $0 option, yes, but for whatever reason I’ve seen 2010s/2011s with 16”s. Not sure why they were ordered that way, but they were (baffling I know). |

Yea, like I said I had absolutely no clue to the amount of variants and options these cars had. My other vehicles pretty much only came one way (GM products/Holden Manufacturing). |

Yup. You’ll learn more about options and features that you may want to add!
On my e90, I had no idea about “options” I’ve tried to add every factory option I could. LOL. |

Yea, I will. This one to me is pretty basic. No I drive or screen. Dependent on the key which I keep forgetting about. I have to remember that I actually have to use it...haha. Alll in all I want it to be a solid car for a while.

E90 is a wonderful car if sorted. I have the 2009 LCI base and once I updated few things, its blast to drive. I recently drove the 2022 540i for a week and its nice and fast but preferred my E90 over that.
For wheels, I second the style M193. From my experience, I’d stick to BMW M wheels for upgrade to 18”. You will also and should upgrade the suspension. Minimally, you’ll want to lower the suspension to sport springs. Otherwise, not worth the 18”. For angle eye upgrade, what you want is the LUX Angel Eye (LED). This is the best. You can also buy something more reasonable. Search Amazon for “E90 angel eye for halogen”. You might need longer screws to mate the led light. Last edited by bkwld; 02-21-2023 at 02:35 AM.. |

Sad to say I've seen 19s and those look interesting as well..haha. I know it's more rotating mass. This car has no real punch or presence as is, at least to me. I'll look into the angle eyes. I do know I want them to be fully light up all the way around and I do not like the ones where you see each and every single led. I like the ones that flow and look homogenized ( if that makes sense ). |

Not bad, I'm going to check and see what's out there. As far as the ones I have now. After sitting for 3yrs the lights have a lot of oxidation. I'm going to use some Cerakote kits I already have. They were for another vehicle but these lights are far worse so it'll be my test vehicle sense I haven't used this kit before.

Every 2011 model had the value package, so they all had 17s, style 285 (non sport package of course). For 2010 the value package was still optional, maybe $0, I do not recall. Standard wheels for 2010 328 sedans were the 16" style 360s.

The one 2011 I saw was a complete base model - literally no options - sunroof delete too. Was a European delivery car, so maybe that’s why? Thanks for clearing that up! |

Update on this thread. I ended up getting 4 New 225/45-17 Falken Azenis FK510 45R R17 Tires.
Time was of the essence and I wasn't finding any rims I wanted. I still would like the style 95s though. I have come to realize the halogen lights are fairly inadequate to me. I would like to upgrade either the bulbs or whole light assembly for something better. Not sure which yet. I need to do some searchs and see what works best without errors. Oh, my sunroof has stopped working. I use protocol and can see button activation when I try to open, close and tilt but the sunroof does nothing. Wondering if it's the fuse? |
