Apologies for the very very late reply. Haven’t been on forums much due to a lot of factors. Just catching up on things. Mines hibernating in the Carcoon still but my word some of those mods aren’t great.

Due to a number of factors I’ve been very quiet on here but feel as I’ve sold my 740e and am now dailying the 3er again I’m back to enjoying it and modding her lol.
So, first up was getting the wireless charging sorted. I had the OE wireless charger in the armrest but always wanted to have the phone out so could see if any messages etc pinged up. I used to have an MMI box for CarPlay but removed it beginning of last year when I thought I was going to sell up and tbh it was causing a battery drain. So after some research decided on the Induktiv kit that sits in the centre console and replaces the ashtray. It’s a tidy unit and neat install. ![]() ![]() Genuinely very impressed with it and is a nice neat solution. Only thing is now I no longer have CarPlay can’t really use it for maps etc while it’s in there ![]() ![]()

Next up is something that bought a tear back to my eye lol.
Apart from selling the Perf seats letting the Akra go was a hard pill to swallow. However, I kept in touch with the guy that bought it and always said if I still had the car and he wanted to sell let me buy it back. Well 1.5 years odd on and get the WhatsApp I’d been hoping for. He said he was selling the car so offered me the Akra back. Without hesitation deal done and booked into MIJ to get them swapped over. ![]() ![]() That noise and those tips are just perfect. The turbo spool up ![]()

So first of the new additions is a very rare part to find these days, especially in this condition.
BMW Performance CF Strut Brace: ![]() Finishes off the engine bay nicely. Also managed to source the M3 microfilter housings at a reasonable price. Again so hard to find in good condition and not at an extortionate price.

I’d been toying with the idea of going larger with the brakes as love the Alcons but really wanted some AP’s with larger calipers and discs.
So a quick call to my mate Dave and he was on it with getting me some new bells and brackets made for some nice new AP Radi-CAL 6pots and 380mm discs. Gave the calipers to a friend to ceramic coat them too. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() These things are phenomenal. Definitely better braking over the Alcons and now plan to do the rears too. |

Yeah I do kinda miss the old 35i…The G31 just doesn't need anything doing to it now.I fitted some cross drilled Zimmerman discs a while back but that was mainly to try & stop the terrible brake squeal it suffered from….which they did & they look pretty good, well what you can see of them & it stops ok, not as good as the 35i did but the G31 is a big car.
I also bought & had fitted an ACS front splitter to finish it off & had the front bumper repainted at the same time. Haven’t driven it since 18th October…don’t wanna get it dirty as it takes too long to clean the bloody thing

Sounds like you need to buy an E92 again to use and mod etc
The G31 is a big car and like my G11 was a pain to keep clean being a huge beast of a car but I certainly drove it even through winter and just didn’t wash it as often ![]() There’s always something you can do mod wise so that’s no excuse lol. |

And nice to see the Ohlins R&T holding up well. Where do you go for Ohlins service/rebuild?

Although I might need to buy a new pair of rear springs now. I’ve taken them to BG Motorsport. Last time was when they were still based at Silverstone. |

Yeah that's where I go. They've moved up the road to new premises in Hartwell.

So, another mod completed.
I’ve been wanting to get Alan to do me a full CF interior for such a long time and I finally decided to get it done. His workmanship is the best I’ve seen and his attention to detail is second to none. I wanted an individual detail to represent the car which he happily obliged with. Absolutely love this piece: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And the rest of the trims all match up nicely. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
