BMW e93 - Solar Panel Trickle Charging (OBD2? Cigarette Lighter? USB socket?)
Hi Everyone,
New to the forum so apologies in advance if I’m posting this in the wrong place or taking liberties with posting a new thread! Would really appreciate your expert advice / a steer on a charging challenge - which after some initial research, no one seems to have answered yet. I got here because I’m trying to find out if you can trickle charge a BMW e93 using a 4.8w solar panel connected to the cars OBD2 port whilst the car is locked (key not in the ignition)? If this isn’t possible, are there any internal locations that can be used to trickle charge the battery with a solar panel (eg cigarette lighter)? Many thanks in advance! You could probably find a bunch of solutions on google, but in essence, you would need to connect it to something that doesn't go through the ignition circuitry, like the terminals themselves. Your outlets aren't live with then iginition off.
